Ooooh...that's rough. I had that in the beginning with my neonatalogist...'twas costly.

Also wanted to say - love the name Sebastian. Are you going to call him Seve???? I luv that name - like Seve Ballesteros - famous PGA golfer from Spain.

Hi girls

Thank you very much for your kind words, I now my abuela is now in a better place and according to my mom she had a very peaceful death. I imagine that If my family told me what was going on I would be in shock,so I'm glad they didn't tell me at the end.

Staashi@ Today I got a phone call from the hospital where I gave birth, my husband forgot to add Sofia to our insurance so they where calling to find out about some info from us, they told me that the bill for her stay at the NICU was $20,000 Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :crying: so I call hubby inmediately , we know we won't have to pay the total and we wonder how much we will have to pay. I hope it doesn't hurt so much.

Nessa@ I have the same problem with Sofia, dring the nights when she is awake I have to feed her more than a couple of times (weird) when I finish with my routine of feeding, changing diaper and etc and I put her to sleep she wakes up after a few minutes to eat and that pattern continues through the night. About the pediatrician you should feel 100% comfortable with him.

About my weight I have to say that I'm almost there!!!!, maybe 3 more pounds to be on my pre-pregnancy weight but I still have a non flat belly, I miss my flat belly!!! next week I can start going back to the gym so that will help tons.

I have to finish cleaning the house, my daddy is arriving at 2.15am from Peru, having my mom and dad here is like a dream come true, I can't believe it!!

Lots of hugs

Vi

hey we have some famous german Sebastians too! Basti Schweinsteiger! I like the way it is pronounced in english better than german though.

regarding the pacifier. ok, I guess I am lucky. Ben uses it, but he can go to sleep without it and never showed an interest in his fingers, I thought that was because I didn't encourage it. I guess every child is different.

I am VERY clear to zaid that I do not approve of him sucking his fingers, I have tried to stop it since day 1 but it was hopeless, again, you cannot take them away ya know? I tell him "its yucky" and "no no"and he knows what it means, but he will not give it up. I could pull his fingers out of his mouth a million times and he insists on putting them right back in. With the paci, he chews on it, doesnt even know that he is suppose to suck. I guess nipples never did anything for him, he just gave up the bottle 3 weeks ago and my girlfriend was over today and zaid found her babys bottle, which happened to be the EXACT same kind he used and he has NO DESIRE to stick it in his mouth. He shook it up as if it was a toy.

Declan never liked the pacifier. He went through a phase when he was about 4-5 months where he sucked his thumb, but that was short lived.

@ Chnst - I would LOVE to be close to a Babies r Us. We are so in the boonies up here. The closest Babies r Us is 3 hours away :( I'm not sure about the jobs ... I'm not licensed yet in NY. We've been considering several states to move to, and it would cost a lot to become licensed in each of those states. I don't foresee any problems in getting the license, but I just don't want to spend about $300 for each state to get a license. I'm worried that jobs won't want to consider me because I don't yet have that license. I guess I'll have to see how it goes and then, if no job luck, decide what to do.

my bill was 25K for a normal delivery with just a bit much blood loss and 5 day stay. Jona's bill was 3k. Tricare picked it up 100%, however they must have some deal with the hospital as they paid less than the original bill.

Yes they do have a deal. I had some bloodwork done when I was pregnant with Allie and I got a copy of a bill for 325 Dollars or so and it said that TRICARE had paid 24 dollars toward that and so my bill was paid in full. I did not have to pay anything extra. Same for some stuff my DH had done a while back. We got a bill over 6000 Dollars, TRICARE paid 300something Dollars and it was paid in full with that.

ugh delivery bills... I don't remember exactly but mine was around 20,000 for 2 days. We had to pay $300/night for a private room (the daddy bed was a super uncomfortable couch) and 1 month after I delivered they finished the new maternity unit were every patient gets a free private room.

When I was re-admitted we didn't have to pay for the private room but we had to pay the copay twice something I am still mad about, because I was only home for 1 day and shouldn't have been discharged in the first place.

Another thing they did was send us a bill for the circumcision that never happened. I am so glad that our insurance pays 100%, except the co-pays. birthing is such a big business, it makes me want to run my own hospital. :P

@Kelly: I wouldn't worry too much about the finger sucking yet. He is still a baby and its his way of comforting himself. If Ben only slept through the night, I wouldn't care if he would still suck his thumb in 9th grade. LOL.

if he doesn't walk, nothing wrong with sucking his toes, it's clean.

Target has cute (and cheap!) new diapers--anyone try them yet? I appreciate that they don't have goofy looking cartoon characters plastered on them (they have tasteful blue and green big dots). Ilyas has been having lots of diaper blow-outs lately with his size 2 Huggies, so I'm hoping that these do the trick!

Berber Mama,

Must be something about those Moroccan babies...my son is a toe sucker, too! And he crawls, so his toes aren't always so clean. Oh well, I guess it will build immunity (kinda like that dead ladybug I found in his mouth yesterday--yikes!).
