lol Chrissy!! Enjoy your burger!! Your almost there!!

Caro, milk always made my heartburn worse! TUMS!! i lived on em...It sadly only gets better when you have the baby...good luck!!

Stef and Karen! Ben and Declan are sooooo cute!! CAN YOU BELIEVE OUR BOYS ARE TURNING 1>>>>????

no way, haha! We are planning a little party on the 3rd of May. It's crazy how fast time flies. I love the new pictures of your little family! He looks a lot like you in those pics! What a handsome little man! He is huge!! Does Zaid walk yet?

@Caro: no it's not too early. You are pregnant, so there's your registry "ticket". I registered with Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids. Babies R Us gives you 10% off of the remaining items on your registry after the due date. Registering for all the Baby stuff was one of the best parts of being pregnant, so have fun!

Hi all, it's been a long time since I've been on here. Ayman and I just got back from Morocco Wed. night. I can't believe my lil' man turns 1 today. :crying: I miss my baby baby.

Congrats Staashi, Nessa and everyone else who recently delivered. Your babies are beautuiful.

Kelly your news pics are so adorable. Well, everyones new pics are adorable.

We're off to my parents next week to have a small birthday party for Ayman. I can't wait, it should be lots of fun.

Hope everyone is doing well here.

I really like the wipes warmer. It does dry out the one wipe on top, but the babies don't scream like when you use a cold wipe on them. Also, it may just be me, but I think it makes them a little more pliable as well.

AFU: Zaki rolled over from his tummy to his back multiple times this morning. We kept trying him to see if it was a fluke.

Regarding feeding:

We plan to breast feed, but I will also pump so Justin can feed the baby too with a bottle

not sure how the whole breast pump + bottle works, so I'm just making sure I have everything

pump/ bottle feeding needs:

*Breast pump

*Bottles that match the pump

*Bottle sterilizer (I like the sound of the steam system, are those ok?)

Am I missing anything else?

Saludos,

Caro

And, does anyone use the playtex drop ins, and how do you like them? and do you still need to sterilize the bottle if you use a bottle liner?

Saludos,

Caro

Caro, I used playtex drop ins and could not have asked for a better bottle. The only part i sterilized was the nipple. they were great when zaid had colic and helped alot with his gas!!

Stef, zaid takes about 6 steps before he gives up. he is getting there tho. I agree when saying he resembles me. I think he looks alot like me in his face but everyone sees the dark hair and immediately says "oh he is all his dad"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AYMAN!!! Enjoy your bday celebration this weekend!!

@ Caro: I never used a wipe warmer... Jona didn't like diaper changes until he was about 12 pounds and had enough weight to keep himself warm. He just didn't like the cold during diaper change period. BUt if someone buys it for you, I'd give it a try. I was registered at Lullaby Lane, Right Start and Target. I had the shower around 34 weeks, which was right on time as my little one was born at 37 weeks....

I have a Medela Swing, I'm a SAHM, so I didn't need the double pump. We used it with Born Free bottles which are excellent and BPA/phtalate free and have a great anti-colic system. I bought the Avent microwave sterilizer which works fine. We pumped once a day and DH fed Jona, until he was 4 months old, since then he refuses bottles. SAme with my nephew. Many breastfed babies do. Why settle for silicon when you can have the real thing! :P

Yesterday was my nephew's baptism and I'm the godmother. It was such a long day for Jona. At least nobody tried to feed him... That would be very upsetting for me. He wouldn't eat it anyways though, we keep trying once a week, but he is just not into solids at all. I don't mind at all, the later the better so he'll skip the purred foods stage and goes directly to fingerfoods. DH is so antsy about it, I guess he thinks Jona will starve (yet he is still in the 99th percentile for everything!). He tries soooo hard to crawl, it's fun to watch :)

@Chrissy: you're almost there. those last days take forever, i know. today is Ben's due date. I know if he wasn't delivered last week i'd be going insane counting the minutes after my due date for him to come.

@caro: Yes, i'd go ahead and do the registry. about the wipe warmer, i thought they were not important, but now i wish i had bought one. Ben doesn't like to be changed, he almost always cry just by me taking his clothes off. but sometimes he doesn't he's quiet, since i use the cloth diaper, i wipe him with the cloth diaper first and then i finish with the wipers, that's when he starts crying, he doesn't like the cold, wet wipes.

I used the Avent microwave steam sterilizer a lot. I like that thing, although I burned my fingers a lot. But I'm a klutz, so don't let that affect your decision. :)

Since Ben doesn't go to a day care, I used the Medela Handpump on the rare occasions I pumped. Someone gave me an evenflo electrical pump but when the whole BPA thing started I stopped using it. I like the handpump better.

Whenever Ben had a bottle we either used the drop-ins (those are great!!) or Medela bottles (these leaked for me).

Does someone have a tip for a great sippy cup? I have tried the thermos Foggo but this thing is a nightmare to clean. Now we use Born Free, but he keeps choking on his water, I tried it and you get a lot of air before the water comes out. Then we tried the Boon cup- really easy to clean, but when he drops it, the spout comes off and the drink spills out.

I am so tired of people who try to stuff food in Ben's mouth. It started when he was 4 months old. I don't get why other people have such an opinion about what my kid should eat. He is eating finger foods now but we have to be very careful because of his constipation, and he only has 2 bottom teeth, so he can't really chew very well.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I went ahead and created our registry yesterday, and included the wiper warmers and the drop ins starter kit :)

@Anna: That is so nice! We are trying to figure out who will be our baby's godparents, it is seriously hard as we don't know anyone here in the US that meets the qualifications! (baptism+confirmation+if married, married in the church). If I were to be asked to be a godmother, I wouldn't even qualify since Justin and I are only married legally, not through the church :P

@Chrissy: Good luck with the move!

@chnst: I'd be so upset too if people took the liberty to feed my baby.

@Nessa: Glad you found some relief. Does pumping relieve engorgement?

Saludos,

Caro

I use Avent bottles and the Avent Steam sterilizer and the Medela Swing pump. Also you can buy conversion tops for your Avnt bottles so you can use them with the Medela pump which is what I did. They fit the disposable and the regular bottles.

We love our wipe warmer. We had it listed but no one bought it so DH went out and picked it up!
