40 B out of the 819 B is infrastructure.

That isn't spin.

The whole thing is mesmerizing....like how do they figure out a dollar amount? Also, why is there money going into job training? Job training??? People aren't out of work because they don't have the necessary skills!!!

Good God, I'm going to bust a blood vessel! I hope the Senate will revise the whole bloody bill.

OK, I'm looking just at California's piece of the pie...

7.8 Billion in aid....

4.45 Transportation

2.4 Schools

The bulk going towards transportation (infrastructure)

That's per capita....

$122 Transportation

$66 Schools

$13 Job Training

I'm looking at the numbers for each state (total aid), AJ.

I'm thinking that the 50 billion for infrastructure is outside of the state aid. Each state is dedicating the bulk of that aid towards transportation.

I'm trying to find out more definitive numbers.

The bulk going towards transportation (infrastructure)

And yet, California gets the 7th smallest amount of money per capita for transportation (see WSJ graphic in other thread).

The states that get less (per capita) for transportation are Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and North Carolina. NC gets the least in the whole country.

That makes sense in that California is more densely populated. I'm sure that each state's budget and transportation offices were working together with their Reps to come up with those figures.

NJ is more densely populated (a lot more) and gets $50 more per capita for transportation.

No, I was thinking that population density meant that those states that are more densly populated would get less per capita since the spending could be more efficient. Again, California is well represented in Congress so I'm sure the state got what it needed.

NJ has 5 times the density and is getting 40% more per capita.
