SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Gov. Rod Blagojevich was convicted at his impeachment trial and thrown out of office Thursday, ending a nearly two-month crisis that erupted with his arrest on charges he tried to sell Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat.

Blagojevich becomes the first U.S. governor in more than 20 years to be removed by impeachment.

After a four-day trial, the Illinois Senate voted 59-0 to convict him of abuse of power, automatically ousting the second-term Democrat. Democratic Lt. Gov. Patrick Quinn, one of his critics, immediately became governor.

He's innoent, Where is the justice?

He may or may not be innocent of criminal wrongdoing and he has yet to be convicted of any criminal wrongdoing in the courts. But he was kicked out of office by the legislature anyway.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

if you saw his press conference this evening it was comical... He spoke like a victim and refused to give up the camera even as he said goodbye he was goaded back to the cameras. He even asked if this was his last hoorah or would the cameras come back if he convened a press conference. THen he requested that the kids in the audience get on TV.

Blah blah blah

Did anyone hear the recordings of him trying to sell Obama's Senate seat? I did, and it was definitely him.

There is also sufficient evidence of other corruption, thus the Government's case against him. He is currently innocent until proven guilty, yet the presumption of guilt is enough to bounce him from office.

When the Federal case is tried this year, he will surely be sent to prison.

How many Illinois Governors is that now? I've lost count........
