They had an interview in Kyiv in May and nothing has happened. The embassy just gives automatic replies to my inquiries.

I am not sure what your question is. More details please. I have a direct line to the supervisor of the visa section in Kyiv. Doesn't get me any special treatment, but it does get me answers. Maybe if I coul dunderstand more about what you are asking

Your details are still a bit confusing.....did you come to the US on a family based visa (i.e. K1/K3, IR1CR1)? Are you [now] a US citizen? Are you petitioning your children to emigrate as well or just to visit? What visa did your children interview for?

Can somebody help me, please!

We get a replies from the Kiyv embassy today. It is saying : childrens " application has been temporarily suspended under section 221(g) of the US Immigrations and Nationality Act and is subject to a necessary administrative processing"

Who knows what it is? What we should do now?

My husband(he is US citizen) is a petitioning my children to emigrate to the US . I came to the US on visitor visa B-2.

Now I have a Green Card, I am not a US citizen.

Thank you!

There isn't really a lot you can do other than wait. 221-G's can mean a lot of things depending on what visa you are doing and what stage you are at. In your case it means that your children are in Administrative Processing.

Read the topics here at VisaJourney about A/P and you will learn more. What I would think it means in this case is your childrens file has been sent to Washington where they are doing background checks. My wife and I spent 6-7 months in A/P on our K-1 application. It is a frustrating thing to go through because there is not much you can do but wait.

It probably won't help to contact your congressman but it can't hurt either. Your congressman is Jason Aultmire and you should be able to find a local office for him online or in the phone book. You want to talk to his visa specialist. I will add that I talked to him a couple of years ago and got nowhere.

I really don't think the A/P process would take so long but I think they all just sit in a pile in FBI headquarters with no action being taken and when they decide to do some then they get processed. When we were in A/P I was in contact with a dozen others in the same situtation who had waited various periods of time. We all came out on the same day. I think they must have loaded up a semi truck with applications that had been sitting there in a pile and sent them all back to NVC at one time.

The good things are, they kept the passports which means you are not denied and even getting a letter from them is a sign things might be starting to move. There are no averages of how long A/P can take. Sometimes it is days or weeks, sometimes much longer. The record I have heard of is 8 years. If it goes on long enough the only option you have is a writ of Mandibus (sp?) which must be filed in a Federal Court and is a last resort. You don't want to take that route unless you absolutely must.

My wife and I both wish you the best of luck with this.

If he is going to be in Kiev it won't hurt to try but my guess is the file is in Washington and they won't be able to help. I would not make a special trip to go to the Embassy. The congressman is probably your best bet but I think it is more a matter of just waiting until the wonderful and efficient staff in Washington gets off their behinds and processes the paperwork.

You are welcome and best of luck.
