Once everything is filed and approved, then I will return to her country to offer her support while she has

her medical exam and interview. My wife has never flown internationally and It would be much easier and less

stressful on her If I were there by her side.

I wish I could, but sadly he'll have to be excited and freaking out over the Pacific all by himself again. If I'm gonna pay $1500 for a flight to Aussieland I'd much rather go enjoy the country instead of turning around and coming right back. lol

I will be flying alone into US. My husband was just here for the Christmas-New Year holidays. If all goes well next week, i shall be on my way the following week. I guess I will lose out on the luggage allowance part, but we make do and he already brought back a whole luggage of my stuff each time we meet up, and I have boxes on the way. I have no problem with international traveling, altho I never like dealing with immigration whether they are nice or stern. We shall see how the interview turn out.

Well if timing works out as planned, I will be going down on a one way ticket as soon as teacher work days are over in June and hopefully he will be coming back with me (estimate is July). I will be able to (hopefully) go to the Medical and Interview with him! Also will be able to spend some more time with his family before he moves here. That is the tentative plan, and he has never flown before. However if things miraculously start moving before summertime he will be coming here on his own  The only thing I'm concerned about is the language issue - does anyone know if the officers who check him in at the POE will speak Spanish? I know this depends on where and when and who's working, but how does that work with all the foreigners that come here and do not speak English?

My sweetie will be flying here to meet me and then drive the 2000 miles from Nova Scotia, Canada to Wisconsin together. We opted for the uhaul and trailer to haul my car. This way we can take turn driving and get to see some more of Canada for him. Well, this is the plan to date....who knows, maybe once I start packing all my #######...jumping on an airplane and just flying might not look that bad afterall. LOL

I am flying to the Phils to spend some time with her family and then we both woill fly back together. She has never flown internationally and I do not want her to try flying by herself. I wil enjoy the flight back together and I also want to visit het immediate family again and they plan a farewell party also for us, her family and I get along so well. Sure it costs money but I think treveling there and back with her is the right thing to do. :)

Well, I unfortunately can't go to Thailand to make the entire journey with her. I just don't have the vacation time from work at this point to do that, much as I'd like to. I was there last in Sept and had a great time with her and all her family then.

So, there are 2 options. One - she will come directly here and I'll pick her up at O'Hare.

Two - I have a family wedding to attend in Toronto in late March. Depending on how things work out with interview etc. I'm really hoping she'll have the K-1 in hand before then. At first I was disappointed thinking that she would be stuck in Chicago and unable to travel to Canada for the wedding with me. But now I'm getting this crazzzy idea that we should try to get her a tourist visa to enter Canada, and then book her flight as BKK-YYZ, then I fly up to Toronto and meet her there, attend the family wedding with my family, and make the trip YYZ-ORD together. That has the added advantage of letting us navigate her US POE experience together. I'm hoping to make this work but it will all depend upon the timing of getting her K-1, and whether she can also get a Canadian tourist visa.

So, this is the compromise solution to your question: No, I won't go to her home country, but also no, I won't just meet her in the US. We'll meet in a 3rd country and enter the US together.

I'm going over to offer support for the interview and spend some time together. At this moment can not afford to go again when it is approved to fly back with her. If I had the money I would. : ) Jorge

Most likely I will be flying up to Montreal and driving home with him. Not sure though, but I doubt he wants to make the 8 hour drive alone especially since he is going to have to stop at the border and do the whole car importing thing. I guess as time gets closer we will work it out. I know I am going to go with him for the interview, so will just probably make it an extended trip until the visa is issued than just drive together :D

If the person has no experience flying internationally, it can be daunting although with basic knowledge of English, you will be able to get help, in the plane and at the airport. I personally avoided flight with domestic connecting flight on the first POE because I do not know how long the immigration will take and have to worry about catching the next flight or being bored at the airport. Well, I still try to avoid the domestic connection

But I came on CR-1 & my husband just met me at the airport.
