Visiting and working in Canada

  1. 1. Your former Canadian employer would like you to come back to Canada for 2 weeks to work would you:

    • Say Yes! It would be lovely to see everyone again! When do I leave?

    • Say you would like to...but no, your spouse would be none-too-happy, so you decline the offer
      3
    • Say no - you don't want to be away from your spouse for 2 weeks (and your spouse wouldn't be happy about it either)
      3
    • Say no, you don't want to be away from your spouse - but your Spouse would be happy to have the house to themselves for 2 weeks

  2. 2. Visiting Canada - your relative sends you a ticket to Canada as a birthday present, do you:

    • Immediately go online to book!
      18
    • Want to go, but your spouse would be none-too-happy, so you decline the offer

    • Say thanks but no thanks, unless both of you are going to visit, you don't want to go

Ok, so something krikit said made me think about this.

Say you are now living in the U.S. with your spouse and say you kind of like the job you had in Canada. They call you up and ask you to come back to work for a period of time....would you?

Answering for my husband, he'd go to Canada to work for two weeks, no problem. It would be OK with both of us.

On the second, there is an option that isn't listed and that is that my husband (if he needed a 'ticket' that is) would coordinate the trip with me so that our obligations and anything else going on are covered. Whether I went with him or not would have to do with our logisitics.

Is someone trying to hold their spouse hostage in the US? ;-)

The poll is about how spouses feel about being away from their spouse for a period of time - not about logistics at all.

Over analyzing!!

Well, the last option on both questions don't apply to me so that eliminates that option. If my spouse wasn't holding me hostage I would choose Option 1 on the first question, however, I have spent an awful lot of time away from my spouse these past couple of years so I don't feel comfortable choosing that option. Then again, my spouse probably wouldn't be too happy about it (see last sentence) but I wouldn't decline the offer, either...... I'd just choose my timing  ..... so that eliminates that option. I guess I'll pick Option A on question 1.

For Question 2 can I have some clarification, please? Is the ticket to fly home for my birthday or to use whenever I can get away? Oh, and when do we leave? :hehe:

Well in that case.... The reason I asked the question is because our birthdays are one day apart so I'd feel really bad about leaving him here while I went away.

Soooo..... my answer for question 2 would be to immediately go online to book. But I'd be the same as MsZ.... I'd try to coordinate it where he could come to. But if he can't, that's okay. I'd been on my own so long previous to this that I have absolutely no qualms about going on my own. Except for the fact that he might not like it.

Guess I'll go vote now that I've got it all worked out. Being an analytical type can get really exhausting sometimes. <_<

You can't coordinate it so that you go together!

The poll is silly

I didn't work it and re-work it because I thought I would just create it and throw it out there - but it is specifically about whether or not you would leave your spouse behind and go on a trip.

I would redo it but my sex and the city dvd is here :hehe:

Marriage test #1 failed. I guess I don't feel bad at all leaving poor Chris behind.

I thought about saying, I'd ask if he wanted to come, but then I thought, nah, Dale and Thom need looking after he should stay home in this scenario.
