Paying by Check

I don't know if this has been addressed before but when I did a search i couldn't find anything about this specific question so if this is a repeat, please feel free to direct me to a post that covers this....

My fiance will be arriving tomorrow for a visit and we are going to mail our K1 application while he's here. I've read on VJ that the best way to pay is with a check. I don't have checks with my bank account and wondered if I had my parents write a check for me from their account, would that be a problem?

I know I can pay by money order but I wanted to try to do it by check so that I can get our case number.

Im not sure if my fiance used his own bank account, but I think as long as you pay the fee its ok.

If its only for the case number...that will be on your NOA1 that you'll get in the mail. On the back of the check is the same number printed...so you can just go by your NOA1
