Hi. My I129 petition was filed on 7-18-08. Since it's been six months, I had my senator make an inquiry. Here's the response that was received.

The I129F Petition is currently pending in our background check unit and will remain pending until all background

issues are resolved. The congressional unit is prohibited in interfering with cases pending background checks

and there is not expedite handling on these cases.

Does this mean there is a problem? The way it's worded about "issues resolved" makes me weary. My fiance has never been to the U.S, so it's making me nervous. Should I be worried? Any idea how long this may take? My case was touched on 12-16-08 and then again on 1-26-09.

Thanks

It looks like it is telling you and your Senator to buzz off until the FBI completes the background checks

There is no set time limit, unfortunately.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
