CONGRATULATIONS!!!

WELCOME TO VJ!!!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Well, if applying for USC with the marriage privilege, you have to submit a marriage certificate with your application. In my state, against the law to make a copy of it, can be fined $10,000.00. So had to contact the county we were married in to get yet another copy at eight bucks apiece plus postage. Three total, one for the AOS, another for the I-751, and the third for the N-400, an extra 24 bucks.

They only have one copy of my wife's birth certificate, but two of mine, two copies of our previous marriage divorces, wonder why they didn't ask for that for the I-751? If first applying, might as well make six stacks, three for each set of forms with three spares in case they lose the ones you sent in. Wife said she saw her file at the N-400, IO needed a wheel barrel to haul it in, practically all duplicates of the same old stuff.

Ha, was just reflecting on marriage certificate that you cannot get in my state until you get a marriage license, that you cannot get in my state, until you indubitably prove to them that you are old enough, and perfectly free to marry, only to have to go through that three times again with the USCIS.

Have to ask someone to pinch me to make sure I am not going through a bad dream, it ain't a dream. And that marriage certificate isn't nearly enough, just a start.

Ha, even more reflections, can't even enter the field office without a valid green card, where do they think you got that green card from, a Cracker Jack box? Took loads of evidence to even get that far. Only to have to supply the same evidence again for citizenship. Most irritating to me was to pull out the 50 double sided pages of my divorce papers. Was a very bad experience and want to forget that, but page by page, had to remake even more copies of it. The same for my wife's divorce pages, not nearly as long, but in her country, legal size paper, had to buy more.

But if you want your spouse to get USC, assuming your spouse also wants it, you do it. Just a joke reading in the N-400 instructions about the paperwork reduction act.
