hey all - just thought I'd quickly post - I changed my address via the online Ar-11 and received the confirmation number at the end of the process last Oct and life being what it is, I've been busy and negligent in following up with them to ensure all was good.

Now, I didn't have any pending applications or anything complicated at the time - let me add that caveat.

So, I called bright an early this morning (1-800-375-5283 in case anyone needs it) and was on hold maybe 30 seconds (yee haw). Spoke to a lovely woman who aske dme a few questions and said ( I quote...sort of)

' If you have your copy of the online form and the associated confirmation number recorded, you can be rest assured that we have that update made to your address. In addition, as long as you have that copy, that is your proof positive if there is ever a discrepancy' . She said going forward just start using the new address on any correspondence of course (ie - later this year when we remove conditions) .

So - I am happy and have worried for nothing. I followed the process to a T and all is good. Yes, I know that the nay sayers will say to double check, but I can tell you that she wasn't about to look up my information and frankly I was happy with her answer

disclaimer; of course, I wasn't in the middle of any process, i wasn't awaiting anything from them - yes i know everyone's situations is different - please don't yell at me :(

When we moved in October I used the AR-11. We submitted it, they say they have it - it's all good.

Why would anyone yell at you? :)

oh you know - not so much in the Canadian forum, but sometimes you say something and people get on your case for not giving full info or misleading people just because my situation is straight forward. I should ALWAYS know better then to venture into other forums unless I have my thick skin-suit on :D

You know, VJ was my first time on a message board and it was pretty much an eye opener for me. I had no idea people could be so rude and judgemental. I guess I was a bit naive.

Now that you mention it, I guess this is really the first board (with any traffic) that I have posted on.

For one of my first questions - pushbrk answered, and none-too-nicely either.

Internet or no - if you think about all the people you have met in your life, online or offline - and all the conversations you have heard and heard of - if you compare that to VJ off topic (or the polls area - and here and there all over this site) - it is still amazing some of the stuff some people want to discuss here.

You know those people you have met at work or socially (here even) and they almost seem kind of nice on the surface but you have a feeling there is really a dark side to them - they show that side on here, I think.

Totally. Oh, and I've had my share of none-too-nice answers also. Those people shall remain nameless in order to prevent conjuring up the devil, as it were.

Its always amazed me how people act sometimes. I find the way some people answer questions just demeaning, I'm not sure why they bother at all. I do understand that seeing the same question over and over within one day because people don't read can get frusterating, but in general if I feel the need to answer someone's question I'm not going to snap at them. It doesnt help them out, would make me look like a fool and would just make me feel more frusterated as well. Not everyone has firm grasps of what they are reading, so even if they read the guides it may all seem like gibberish to them, I've noticed pushbrk can be quite abrubt with these people, even if they are just looking for clarification that what think they read is actually what is it saying. I don't really understand his need to insult people based on this, I know lots of people with learning disabilities who just need more time to process things or need things explained in a different way, but that doesnt mean they are stupid and can't do anything on their own...

You my dear were raised with manners, and not born in a barn like some on this board.

Fortunately, the good outweigh the bad here.
