Yey its so exciting   yet in a way a bit scary

I booked my ticket for THE TRIP last night. And I can finally go live with my man

So excited I could burst!!!

now i can up date our timeline again

One thing though, I bought a return because of their weird pricing structure and i just didnt have nor want to pay £800 for a one way ticket.

I remember Rocks said something about being asked if she had A number or was visitng or citizen. When are you suposed to do that or was that just her airline?

I booked with Virgin through opedo last night (yes i say the off topic letter of complaint post. :lol:lol) and they never asked that sort of info, but then it was a return  am i suposed to inform them in advance of the ticket desk that I am on a K1?

Nope, just rock up as normal, and forget about using the return portion of the ticket. If you're feeling particularly generous, you might want to inform the airline (after you get there) so that they can sell that seat on again - I'm sure they'd be happy to do so

Might be an idea to cancel the return portion and see if you can get your tax's back for it

Also check the ticket as you may be able to use it at a later date and just pay for the transfer but then you will be in the same boat again with the return

Congratulations cant wait to do the same and see my Vito ha ha even though I call him Todd, but everyone there calls him Vito

haha mines not really a Vito either. its actually the foreign varient of it but his Dad has the same name, so everyone calls mine Vito on a personal level unless work or proffessional purposes.

yeh i was thinking about that, so i made the return leg for september a week before my birthday incase it was possible to a) have advanced parol by then, B) be fiancially feasable to unpgrade it to another return ticket. if not i will first try and sell back recoup my taxs and then let them have the seat bk.

just put that you are visiting like you would if you were travelling on the vwp. it was funny when i got to the airport (it's a small one but it's international), the guy who asked me the security questions had to check what a k1 was. just inform them when you get there that you're travelling on a k1 and will be moving there, they can do it for you.

how many suitcases are you taking? i took four and it was crazy!

i may just take my free alotment, plus hand luggage and violin. have to remind myself how to do that.

i just looked at the advanced passenger info and there is an option for staying there?

i am a bit peed off though, cos either opedo or virgin changed my surname so that instead of for example Snuggle Bum.... my surname is down as Sungglebum thats not how it is in my passport  i have emailed virgin to ask it its a problem but i dunno i dont fancy paying £30 for a mistake made by a computer and i know its them cos my internet receipt has my name right from last night

i've never flown with virgin so i don't know what their questions are. just put whatever you think is right, if it isn't they can change it at the airport i think.

are you taking the violin as handluggage?

i'm sure the name thing will be ok. i have a friend with two names that are super long and they never fit on the ticket so it doesn't match the name in his passport but he always manages to fly with no problems. it's a good idea to check with the airline that it is ok that way though.

you must be so excited about finally getting there. are you ready to go?

Congratulations! Another option is, when you check in, to request an upgrade to your seat status in exchange for the return ticket. Virgin offered us a free upgrade on one seat if we gave up both economy seats last year because they needed the seating. Since you're a single traveller (I'm assuming) you'll probably stand a good chance. :)

Congratulations!

I got my Visa today and booked my flight for Saturday. And thanks to all the air miles I racked up, a one way ticket through Virgin only cost me taxes - £127 or something. Yay!

thanks i read that thread this morning haha so funny, Aactually the last time i took virgin airways the good was much better than ba food, and the pud gum chocolate, very expensive stuff in sainsburys. but the seats wernt as comfy as ba cos you cant pull the sides down for your head i may get one of those trsvel pillow things.

if i wanted to swap it for an uprage when would i do that? would i wait for the checkin desk? or what?
