Question about use of English name instead of Legal name

I don't know if this is a common problem only in Hong Kong/China, or other places as well. We are preparing and gathering documents to file for K1 later this year, the question I have is: we call each other using English names that's not our legal name and is not in any of our legal documents. It's very common for people in Hong Kong to have English name that's not on legal documents. All my friends (as well as my fiance) call me Ashley but it's not my legal name. So, all our communication, emails, SMS, etc only contains our English name (Ashley & Kenneth) instead of our legal names. Is it going to be a problem when we file for K1? Or should we start using our legal names in our communications? Or do we need to prove that we are in fact Ashley and Kenneth by using let say our Facebook profile page showing each of us with our picture and both our legal name and English name?

Also, we communicate primarily in Chinese as this is our first language. Occassionally we do have emails in English or messages on facebook in English. When submitting prove for ongoing relationship, should we only include those in English then? And when during his interview in Hong Kong, can we bring our communications that's in Chinese as well? Or do we need those translated to English?

Thanks for your help/advise!

(background info: I'm from Hong Kong but am a naturalized citizen. My fiance lives in Hong Kong. We just got engaged in December, and we are planning to file for K1 visa later this year since we both need to start saving money first...)

your submitted docs should all use your legal name. your e-mail trail is just supporting evidence, and a VO will understand the use of "english names" in china. most VO in your consulate will also speak one form of chinese or another, and prolly have some reading in character.

Right, you don't have to translate communication examples used during the interview stage. State your English names as "other names used" on forms that ask that question.
