We are considering a trip to a restaraunt in El Paso from Juarez, my fiancee has a B1/B2 VISA. Does anyone have any experiences in crossing while their K1 application was being reviewed? Will it affect the process in any way?

I assume all we have to do is show evidence of returning to Mexico, which we can do with her plane tickets.

I don't have a direct answer for you. Sorry.

What I will tell you is that my wife and decided that it was best not complicate the process by having her visit me during the application process. I visited her whenever possible.

my wife lived in mexicali during the process and she crossed the border many, many times during the process on her b1/b2 visa.

does your wife have a lazer visa ?

Hi,

I don't think she will have any problems as long as she stays in the border area. I live in the border area and cross to Texas with mi "laser visa" all the time with no problem, even when they scann it. The only way they could give her trouble is if she tries to get an I-94 to go further north into the US. I tried doing this and got denied at the border, but tried again flying into Houston and everything went smoothly, no questions whatsoever and they gave me an I-94 valid for 6 months!, but I might have been lucky there.

There is no problem with crossing back and forth before you have the K1. My fiancee and I crossed about 3 times while we were there for our visa appointment. As long as they have a valid tourist visa it's all good! cheers!

You were right about crossing, there were no problems whatsoever, she also had a laser VISA. We actually walked across the Cordova bridge, that's the smartest way to go due to the long wait to get over in a vehicle. Thanks for the great advice everyone, Juarez was great.

Well, no. We were one of the recalled petitions. I had booked the trip two days before the consulate called to let us know the application was being sent back due to IMBRA. We both decided to do the trip anyway to meet again and knock out the medical and bank deposit for the application. I'm fortunate that we are going through Juarez and that we could get these two things done due to the fact that we already had our consulate notice sent to us earlier in May (which is what they need for the medical). It was great to see her again, give her a ring and take care of some of that stuff, next time will be a breeze. Just waiting at this point.

Ohhh, okay. gotcha. Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that they finish up your petition (AGAIN!) and get things moving for you. But at least you are familiar with Juarez now, and you have a good chunk of tasks done. Keep us updated.
