Personally, it's has nothing to do with just having another degree to add to my CV but the pure need for an intellectual stimulation and challenge. Unfortunately pottery making and such will never provide that for me (partly because I have no artistic talents to speak of ;)).

My additional degrees provided me with better job opportunities, career advancement and certainly with better pay. I have been lucky that my previous and current employers have paid for my second MSc and LLM so I didn't have to worry about paying for them as well as being able to carry on accumulating work experience. I'll have to wait and see how useful all those degrees will be to me when I try to get a job in the USA.

Good luck to you whatever you choose to do.

It depends. MBA is good for making money. MD is even better but takes a lot longer. PhD (permanent head damage) is only for crazy folks who don't care about money. For me learning is an addiction. I can't help it.

The same goes for me. The opportunity was there. So I took advantage of it. Making a difference or not, I feel more personally satisfied. Goodluck to you.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

My wife is doing that (masters in spec. ed.). Hopefully it will help, who knows.

I did a year of grad classes online (U Maryland), it was boring and not useful to me at work so I dropped out.

I would go back to school if I was long-term unemployed.

Or long-term underemployed. I absolutely won't go until my wife is done though. I'd like to have one decent paycheck between the two of us.

:o If THAT was boring/useless, I shudder to think of what actual class would be like.

i'm dreading going back. i just finished 5 full-time years. i just can't find a job with my degree...and i'm completely awesome  and get long-term jobs left and right. but the other day, i covered a behavioral disorder classroom and LOVED it. so, maybe i'm cut out for this area of education and the special ed cert would increase my marketability, as i love teaching, but also need $$$$.

Studying never ends once you finished from college. It is a continuing process of dealing the changes here on earth, you need to learn to understand much more things.

As for me, having graduate studies gives me diversion in life. :P

Run while you still can! Get a new profession.....

I'm a middle school teacher so I'm back at school (started this semester) so I can get a new job. I LOVE to teach so I'm going for my MA in TESOL because I love to teach adults and hope to work at a university either here or abroad (preferably). I will make more money which is one of the reasons for going back to school. Also, I'll burn out if I stay in middle school.

I'm at a state school so it's not that expensive and I'm really hoping this will open doors for me.

But I love to be in school too, and have wanted to get my MA for years.
