You can also rent a box from UPS and have a real address that does not say PO Box

Here's why I ask! I(USC) live at home now with my parents. I haven't told my parents about our plans quite yet. Instead, we'd like to announce our engagement when he's here (They rejected him for a tourist visa, so we're thinking about telling them during the 90 days we have before we get married on the K-1)

What do I need to do to make sure that nothing is sent to my home address? Thanks so much!!

Yes, you can use a P.O. box. The correspondence you receive will be regular, business-size, envelopes. And even if they were larger it wouldn't matter. If a delivery is too large for a person's P.O. box the Post Office will leave a note to pick up the oversized piece of mail directly from the counter.

Just a note on not telling your parents ..... I'm going to guess that, since you are living at home, you may not have the ability to prove financial means to support an immigrant and may require their help. That's something you'll need to consider. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Good luck. (F)

Well I'm working right now and a friend of us will be our co-sponsor, so I guess we will be fine. Thank you so much for your help.

lol.. Please excuse my fiance-to-be! I(Jen, USC) do appreciate the help. How would we go about using a P.O. box? Would we need to write in down a form? I'm not really sure how to go about letting them know to send things to a P.O. box and making sure nothing is sent to my current residence.

About not telling my parents: Sigh!! Yes, unfortunately, I realize that. The times I've tried to begin expressing our plans, I've been told I'm "living in a fantasy world". Our plans are to be able to show them our independence, to prove that we know what we're getting ourselves into and that we are serious about this and we're going to see this through. We're looking into possible sponsors. Wish us luck!!
