FIELD OF DREAMS

By RAAHKEE MIRCHANDANI

June 13, 2006 -- THERE is life beyond Beckham. And from where we're sitting, it looks pretty good. They call soccer the beautiful game - and is it ever. Pound for pound the sport offers more good looks and washboard stomachs than any other sport going. And every four years we're blessed with the World Cup. For women, it's like the Olympics of hot - entire teams made up of some of the best-looking guys from every corner of the globe.

So don't worry if you don't understand the game - we've put together an all-hottie team that's sure to make the 2006 World Cup a little easier on the eyes. For more World Cup coverage, visit nypost.com/worldcup.

Francesco Totti, Italy - Soon to be 30, the rugged scorer who plays for A.S. Roma says he'll retire after the Cup, so treasure this first and last all-hottie appearance.

Lucas Neill, Australia - Fans like this 28-year-old(who plays for England's Blackburn Rovers) for his strong defense. We like that he's a dead ringer for Heath Ledger.

Mehdi Mahdavikia, Iran - The striking forward, 28, plays for Hamburg S.V. He might have crushed America's World Cup hopes in 1998 - but we're still suckers for his eyes.

David Trezeguet, France - Normally playing for Italy's Juventus, the 28-year-old is one of France's most prolific scorers. We believe it.

Naohiro Takahara, Japan - The27-year-old who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt hasn't hit the field yet, and we don't know how much longer we can wait for an eyeful.

David Odonkor, Germany - The 23-year-old forward who plays for Borussia Dortmund, was a surprise pick for Germany's team, but not for the all-hotties.

Carlos Bocanegra, U.S.A. - Playing for England's Fulham, the defender, 27, is a sub for the American team, but he's a starter on the all-hottie squad.

SORRY I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE IMAGE SMALLER.

#######! Hottie usually refers to a Hot Female! Furthermore a good looking guy is called Beefcake!

Please use the correct slang term. Doh! Well Lucas yeah he is Hot--no I mean he is a cool guy. I hope my son plays soccer or futbol.
