Hello everyone,

My filipina lady friend was married to a Japanese man two years ago. They were married in civil court in Manila. After staying with her in Manila he went back to Japan and later on she found out he has another girl friend. So last xmas he got her a visa to go to Japan so they can get divorced. She has been there for the last year until now. Two months ago, she got the divorce and she was given a one year working alien visa. She has 3 kids in the Philippines from her previous BF that she was never married too, they all under the age 13.

My question is, I met her in person last year and we have been talking for almost 2 yrs now. I like to petition her for fiance Visa while she is still in Japan. I know she will need a scroll clearance and the Phil Embassy to certify the divorce and get her old name back. What are the forms I need to fill out from here, what forms she needs to fill out if any?

I am sure you heard this before many times, but I do appreciate it if someone can help me out with this since time of the essence since she has to go back to the Phil the end of this year.

If you have a list of what I need to submit with the application that would be great...Thanks to all

Aj

One note, the US consulate in Japan and USCIS will recognize the divorce from Japan, I don't believe the Phil Embassy needs to do anything.

All that will be needed later at the time of interview will pe a Phil Police cert, and Birth Cert.

A citizen of one country (phillipines) going through the K-1 process in another country (Japan) is fine... my wife did the same things (different countries)

follow the K-1 guide

Emmett Fitz-Hume: I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end, and I found out I received nothing... broke my arm.
