hello to all i am new to this and i am a little confuse by what i hear and what i see.

i was born in the united states and my wife in Dominican republic

we got marry on July 4 2008 after 7 years of commitment

i filled for the I130 and Vermont receive it on October 13, 2008

on October 16, 2008 i receive a letter stating that they receive the payment

since then i have not receive any approval letter and i check the status of the case and its still on the same thing

"On October 16, 2008, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you."

how long will it be till i get approved ? or till everything is done in Vermont?

any other information will be a plus,

it can take from 6-8 months, sometimes longer.

It could take up to 7 months. U still have some months to go.

Yes 7 months or longer .Welcome aboard for few months of waiting.. Patience is very important. :thumbs::thumbs:

Feb. 1, 2010- Biometrics appointment at 8a.m.

Feb.9,2010 - touched

March 2,2010- AP approved

March 9,2010- Hard copy received

March 12, 2010- I-485 receipt notice for interview

March 18,2010- received letter for initial interview

April 19, 2010- 8 :15 A.M INTERVIEW DATE ( APPROVED 5min.Interview)

APRIL 20, 2010- USCIS website updated card production ordered

Definitely patience! Ours took over 200+ days...it was insane, but we're finally at NVC! Good luck :)

NOA1: March 8, 2011

Biometrics Appt: April 21, 2011

Early Bio Walk-in: April 7, 2011

Approved: September 7, 2011

If you filed an I-130 petition back in October and didn't follow-up with an I-129F petition for spouse, you are not on a K3 visa track. You're on a CR1 visa track. So, study the CR1 guide and prepare for the next steps while you wait for the petition to be approved.
