Hi all,

I've been trying to find when usually do non-K1 applications (as in my case, H1B) get transferred to local offices in VJ timelines or topics and I can only see K1 cases transfered to CSC.

Do all other cases really get transfered at some point? What is usually the timeline for this transfer?

Moving this to AOS from (Work/Tourist/Student) Visa forum.

K-Visas have an (Immigrations) interview at the consulate, so in many cases USCIS accepts the jugdment of the consulate, and approves AOS without another interview, much like a CR-1 or IR-1 IMMIGRANT visa does not have an AOS interview.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

I know about K1 visas. My question is about non-K1 visas.

I didn't know the AOS forum was ONLY for K1 visas - is this why my question was moved? I think I would get more answers in the AOS forum.

The other AOS forum (which this was moved to) is for status adjustments from work, tourist, student visas. H1B is a work visa.

YMMV

Well, okay, but I think it's a shame that adjusting from working or so visas is considered "sub-forum".

And I also think people get less answers here, being it a sub-forum...

Hm, okay I just checked and VJ changed the forum structure - Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas is not a sub-forum anymore. Still, I think I will get less answers here.

Does anyone know how long does it usually take for non K1 visas to get transfered to local offices?

Actually the I-485 is held until the field office is ready for it, the processing varies by field office.

NYC is working on I-485 cases filed last January: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

Wow, do you think that is correct?

It seems crazy that they would be working in cases from 1 year ago.

Does it mean the cases were transfered there in Jan. 2008? I thought GC applications took around 6 months usually.

Hi, mimigrant,

I am not sure, but I think it is possible that Field Office Processing Dates on USCIS's website shows cases which were transfered there in Jan. 2008 (also, since the data on USCIS's website are "as of November 30, 2008" probably, they should be processing March 2008 cases by now).

By the way, according to JV's AOS timeline, some of November 08 filers are already scheudled for an intervew at the New York, NY field office.

Timeline for New York, NY filers sorted by interview date

Also, in other website, it is reported that some people filed AOS in July or August 08 were interviewed in December 08 at New York, NY filed office.

Concurrent I-130/I-485 Tracker

Since you filed AOS arond 3 weeks before me, I hope you will get your interview notice soon. And I hope I would be following you soon after.

Thanks Mint! You're the best!

I also follow your case as it seems we are adjusting from the same visa and both live in NY.

I hope we both get the interview notice soon!

But you see, somehow no one knows how to answer this question - WHEN do non K1-CSC cases usually get transferred to local offices? I didn't see any date in any timeline showing this. I am trying to understand what's the next step that will happen so I can think less about it :)

I believe I will get EAD-AP production card ordered around Feb. 05th, but I have no clue when the case will be transfered to the local office... and how is the process like when it's the transferred...

I think after the receipt of EAD/AP, all we can do is to wait the receipt of interveiw notice letter and pray for not receiving REF. Also, it seems most of the people received the interview notice letter 5-8 weeks before the interview date, so we should probably reflain from planning travel (unless fees are refundable or under flexible schedule) more than 5 weeks ahead.
