Hi folks, for those whose significant others are from Ecuador. Vanessa never receieved the packet from the Embassy, I registered and got a number which I forwarded to her. She called they told her to download the form from the website. Made the Dr appts went, got the results from the tests. Called again and received a interview date (Feb3rd). Ahh Almost forgot to mention at the Dr's office they could not find her case number at first, after much searching and phone calls, realized it was on the following page . ?? :blink:

Asked on the call requesting the interview if I needed to be there, once again they said that no. (By the way this will be dealing with the Guayaquil Office). I will be leaving on Monday to be there for support and just in case they request that I be there. I will post details after the interview. For those inquiring look at our timeline, from the date documents were received till the date of the interview it's been about 8 months ( has seemed like 80). hahaha.

There ain't no "just in case" -- it is mandatory.

I hope the best for you, but I'm fully prepared to commiserate with you, si man. When the problems arise, DEMAND to speak to an AMERICAN. The Section Chief is probably still Phil Linderman.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

2008-04-28.....I-130 Approved

2008-05-02.....NVC Received

2008-08-20.....Case Complete at NVC

2008-10-14.....Interview--221g, asked to present joint sponsor inspite of NVC approval

2008-11-07.....Visa due to arrive. DHL truck delivering visa was robbed, Consulate required us to present I-864s and DS-230 again, had to get a new passport and other related documents

2008-11-14.....Presented all new documents in person at Consulate, visa printed same day

2008-11-25.....POE Atlanta

2008-12-26.....Green Card and 2nd Welcome Letter arrive

2010-09-02.....Date of NOA ROC 1-751

2010-12-13.....Approval of ROC

2011-01-12.....10 year Permanent Resident card arrived

2011-12-20.....N-400 Application mailed

2011-12-29.....NOA

2012-02-02.....Walk-in biometrics (appt was for 2/16)

Good luck Jorge and Vanessa,

Jorge, if you are going to be there in Ecuador, go with her to the interview and go in with her. I've heard that for the K-1 interview, they often let the fiancé attend. I am planning on being there for my interview as I feel like it will leave little room for an officer in a bad mood to do the wrong thing.
