A few questions for people how are going through or who have gone through London...

Hi. I am almost ready to send off my checklist however I need to find a place that can do the photo's are needed for the interview and medical. I am aware that a normal UK style passport photo isn't the right type. Does anyone know of a good place to go? Preferably around the Manchester area.

when I do send off the checklist, do I actually check the things off or do I just fill in the last section? I ask this because I have not been married before and therefor won't be taking a marriage or divorce certificate or anything similar. This would mean that some of the boxes won't be checked off and they may think that I haven't collected all the documents needed.

Most pharmacys have the digital cameras now that can adjust to the US style pics (I went to the pharmacy down the road to me and they did just fine for the interview and medical they cost £3), you can have them done at snappysnaps (a national company) and they charge £10 here in London.

I think that you just tick all that apply to you, I didnt use the one the embassy send out as my pack 3 got lost twice between the embassy and my home.

Iam sure that someone will correct me if Iam wrong

There is an approved photo place on Oxford Road in Manchester - it tells you the exact address on the photo info we got with packet 3 (I'm not home or I would have give you exact address)!

James is from near Manchester and works in the city, so maybe if he gets on here he can let you know I thought the US style ones were only for the I-129f and you used the English style ones at the interview? Hmm...maybe he will know...

UK passport photos are fine for the medical, I had mine last week.

For the interview you will need U.S size photos. I cant find the pdf from the government website, perhaps someone else can post that...

As for the U.S photos, I made my own and printed them on photo paper when we submitted out petition and they were fine, so I might do the same again.

Do you have a 'Frosts' chemist/photoshop near you? I know they do the US sized pics.

The UK size will be just fine for the medical.

You received P3 from the Embassy, right? It should have an address along the lines of 'Immigrant Visa Unit', on their correspondence.

Are they that different the specs? I don't even think Adam mentioned anything about the US when he got his, just went for passport photos and he got his Visa approved. He got his in Manx but I don't remember where.

Hey, thank you for the help! I went to Ivincta Studio on Saturday. More expensive than I thought it would be... £15.98 for four photographs! At least I have the correct type of photographs for the medical examination and visa interview.

P.S. The title of this topic should read "A few questions for people who..." not "A few questions for people how..." Also, Estella76, I am sure there are different photo specifications. Well I hope so anyway as I spent so much on these ones As Adam had his visa application approved, I doubt there was any issues with the photos he had.

I know it's a bit late now as you already have your photo's, but 15 pounds!!!! wow, that's a bit steep isn't it?

I went on to the internet, got on to www.paspic.com and downloaded a pic from my laptop, it only cost me 5 pound for three U.S. style photos including postage, and they arrived at my house the day after!!

ooh thanks for that! I've just looked on the website - good idea isn't it!! I think I'm going to give them a try.

Oh and when I got my student visa I paid £15 for my pics!
