The current I-129F document (expiring end of June, 2006) describes a K3 petitioner must file proof for 3, 4 & 6 in section A. Question 3 asks about palce of birth (city/country name). I am a naturalized citizen and both my passport and naturalization certificate mentions countryname only and not city of birth. Unfortunately I do not have a birth certificate (it is not available, no records were kept in the village where I was born). Should a copy of my naturalization certificate be sufficient for question 3 & 4 in section A? Question 4 asks date of birth which is on my certificate.

Also is there a problem with filing I-129F using current form if I do it before June 30, 2006?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

You misunderstood the instructions. It means, submit proof of item numbers 3, 4, and 6 of the instructions, not of the I-129F form. From instruction 3, you need to submit a copy of the proof of your US citizenship, for your case a copy of your naturalization certificate. Instruction 4 is only applicable if you can not obtain any documentation. From instruction 4, you need to submit G-325A for both petitioner (you) and beneficiary. Make sure, you sign and date all 4 pages of your G-325A and your spouse signs and date all 4 pages of his/her G-325A. Plus one passport size photo of you and your spouse and write down names and A number (if any) on the back of each photo. Please read the instruction again. It will be clear to you.

In addition to that, you may want to sumbit a copy of your marriage certificate to confirm any name change because of marriage and divorce certificate/decree (if any).

I think, there is no problem filing the current I-129F form before June 30, 2006.

Hi, Thanks a lot for the clarification. That makes perfect sense, I must have been out of my mind after reading the form instructions a thousand times :)

You are welcome. I have made a typing error when I wrote, "From instruction 4, you need to submit G-325A for both petitioner (you) and beneficiary. Make sure, you sign and date all 4 pages of your G-325A and your spouse signs and date all 4 pages of his/her G-325A. Plus one passport size photo of you and your spouse and write down names and A number (if any) on the back of each photo." The typo was on instruction number. It should be instruction 6, not 4.
