I-864 For AOS: Notarization of the Tax Returns?

Hey guys.

I was just wondering if the tax returns need to be notarized, which are required as part of the Affidavit of Support (I-864) for our AOS package. The only reason I ask is that there was a delay in my being given my Fiance Visa at the London US Embassy because we didn't include my wife's notarized tax returns. According to the literature it says that photocopies should suffice, but just wanted to double check so I don't make the same mistake twice and delay matters.
