If the auto industry is flailing does that mean the air one is too? I think citibank should accept the plane because in a sense the government is helping bailout 2 industries for the price if one

Because of reasons like these we are in the a sh!thole, really that's freaking ironic. It's like me filing for bankruptcy and the same day getting a 50'' LCD screen because they are on sale in Circuit City.

I doubt it's quite that simplistic. However, the CEO should have been aware that these kinds of decisions have to be transparently justifiable and will rightly attract unwelcome attention because by all appearances it appears not to have any bearing on the desired improved performance of the company.
