for those people who track China, I figure out that the tracking info is "B" instead of "A"..

EXP 19 JAN 2009B instead of EXP 19 JAN 2009A...

also having the Tariff country (last one) as "CAN" wouldn't hurt either..

works a lot better

Still "CLEARANCE DELAY"

Just so you know...

1. Customs clearance delay in Guangzhou are all imposed by the Consulate. They use the DHL warehouse as storage and only accept packages as they are ready to work them.

2. You'll never know for certian which package contains your case file. NVC doesn't actually know what day they shipped your file, only the date the approved it to go to their mail room.

3. I did this tracking too. On the same day I checked the delivery status of "my package", my wife received her P3. The package I was tracking and those from a week before and after were delivered three to five weeks later.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

pushbrk, in other posts, you had said about the date + one week after ... I checked on the NVC line, and they said they forwarded my case on 1/14.. the only dates within a week I can find are two dates.. 1/15 (52 pounds , in 3 packages) and 1/21 (8 pound package).. with just that little bit of data I collected, it seems both are "too heavy" and will take some time to get through.. the small packages (1 to 2 pounds) zip really fast.. I have checked the Decembers (and even January) small ones already get through.. yet they are from the same place, so don't know if those are for different visas?

EXP 02 JAN 2009B zipped through with 1 piece at 1 pound

Light packages can take a long time too but I've surmised most of the light packages are designated as correspondence that the Consulate wants to accept faster. They may or may not contain any visa case files. Back in 2006, we assumed the small packages were usually not case files but mine must have been in one of them. Anyway, the heavy weight is generally an indicator it's a batch of case files, which means the Consulate will let them sit until they've scheduled a Saturday to process them in. I'd expect you'll see several packages signed for between Thursday and Friday this week as everybody is back from US and Chinese holidays. Too soon for the ones you're tracking though.

oh well.. I figure it might take a while.. my wife actually said people were getting their files from mid-December to end of December already.. she is using the 001 website.. so I don't know if the information over there is credible or not.. but she said she was messaging with "admins" (JMS) people over there and that one of them knows a lot about the dates.. thanks for your input, pushbrk!

Hi gogo,

NVC told me that my case has been forwarded to Guangzhou on Oct 20, 2008. I tried to tracked it on DHL site with something like "EXP 22 OCT 2008A" but never found it. After reading your post, I then tried "B" or even "C" and but got "No shipments found". What did I do wrong on DHL site?

When I tried, I entered "EXP 29 OCT 2008B" for Reference, selected Shipment pick up date range from Oct 23, 2008 to Nov 07, 2008. I also changed the Reference and date range. Nothing came out.

Would you help me try?

Thanks a lot.

dingc08.. as to your question.. it seems all the "October" ones are gone.. that is why the info shown in the first post is only for November.. I really don't know why that is.. when I originally searched for it, I couldn't find any october info.. I wanted to find some "deliveries" that were already done so i can do my estimate better.. hopefully everything is all done for in October.. otherwise, there is no way to track that.. but I think you can try calling DOS (Dept of State) and ask an operator..

I wrote it in the other post too
