My parents are Hindu, similar concerns exist - cutting is seen as a Muslim thing, which they're against because it's Muslim

Hey maybe the Arabs and the Jews can come together on the cut ####### issue.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

According to a British documentary I saw on the evolution of sexual organs, the researchers deduced that the foreskins primary purpose, besides the obvious purpose of external protection, was to act as mechanism in removing another man's sperm from his sexual partner. For ex. as the uncircumcised ####### enters and withdraws from the #######, the skin acts as brush or broom if you will, removing foreign sperms.

If you think it about though, if the sperm is ejaculated deep into the woman's uterus, the foreskin has no ability to remove foreign sperms.

Circumcision is purely cultural, both on a religious level and, as it seems in the West, a dominant scientific method that most doctors, for whatever reasons coming out of Medical School, subscribe to.

Our 7 month old son is not circumcised, he was born in the Philippines where in my wife's culture they typically circumcise around 9 years old.

We are debating if we will circumcise or not, she typically is for whereas I oppose. I think it would painful as an infant or young child. In infants esp. the pain is so intense, its traumatic for a young child even though their consciousness is young and pre-mature, my idea is that the acute pain and trauma could stay with the child through their sub-conscious and manifest in their overall emotional affect through life.

When uncircumcised ADULT men start lining up to voluntarily have their foreskin cut off without the use of anesthesia, while strapped down to a board screaming in pain.....then I would consider circumcising my son. It's barbaric and their is NO proven medical or scientific reason to mutilate millions of infants. It is possible for males to develop problems with tight foreskins and if that happens, then by all means go ahead and circumcise. I am a pediatric nurse, and if we could get parents to leave their kids ####### and foreskin alone, most of those kids would be just fine. Female circumcision has been mentioned here, and people should look that up. It's even more barbaric but is also done primarily for the belief it is CLEANER, and keeps a woman pure. Bah! Neanderthals...

I had a friend who was circumcised at the age of 21 due to medical reasons, he wished he had it done when he was a lot younger as the pain was immense and it took a lot longer to heal.

My OH is circumcised, not sure why, I never really asked, and when I first met his parents they even brought out the piece of skin mounted on a board, which the doc had given them. I was like 'riiiiight'

We aren't planning on having kids but if we did I'm not sure what we would do. Never really thought about it.

Why don't you have your infant's tonsils, appendix, and gallbladder removed as well? After all, they're not needed and will only potentially cause problems.

I'm curious what women think in terms of any difference in feeling between having sex with uncircumcised vs. circumcised man?

start a poll... i have never slept with an uncircumcised man. I guess it's the norm n brazil to be circumcised or i just never found one.

nvm i'll start

oh, and if my husband didn't agree, i'd probably do like i think it was desperate housewifes where her husband was against and she tried to convince the doctor to do so behind his back and the doctor said no so she pretended to be jewish and did it.

this is one of those things that if we disagreed, he'di'd have to live with it because no way my son would not be circumcised.
