since both my mom and girlfriend both had hystroectomies early and neighter husband was circumcised i wonder if there was something to it?

The old saying that the doc posted WAY back in the 19whenever was WRONG. The foreskin is only dirty IF it is not cleaned. I regret ever doing this to my son and wish he would have had the option. the foreskin is like the hood of the ####### on females. Would you like it if that was gone..NO It would be less sensitive, slightly hard and would get try VERY easy.

I vote keep the foreskin any day. I have had both and tell you what I like the foreskin way better.

It is NOT the parents right to take away a piece of the body, YES it may be YOUR child however it is not YOUR #######...it is YOUR sons.

I would rather they grow up to make that choice then to have it stripped away without being truly informed and researched.

Health wise I know many men who have foreskins and are very healthy..this is a myth. Cancer as well is a myth

Myth 4: Circumcision can reduce cervical cancer rates

Fact 4: The above statement probably derived from an article in New England Journal of Medicine in 2002 that claimed that circumcision reduced the risk of causing cervical cancer. Despite the study being flawed and the conclusions exaggerated, many still cite it as "proof" that circumcision can reduce cervical cancer rates.

That fact is most medical institutions such as American Cancer Society, The Cancer Research UK, The American Academy of Pediatrics and Canadian Paediatric Society do not link non-circumcision to cervical cancer.

Consider this fact: 91% of American men born in 1970 and 83% of American men born in 1980 were circumcised and U.S is considered to have very high rate of circumcision rate but strangely U.S is also reported as country with highest cervical cancer rates compared to countries with the lowest rates of circumcision like Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, the U.S.S.R., China, and Japan. It is obvious that circumcision rates do not affect the cervical cancer rates across the globe.

Myth 5: Circumcision may offer some protection against HIV for men.

Fact 5: You are equally at the same high risk of getting infected by HIV no matter you keep your skin intake or cut. There are many other factors may be involved in the likelihood of us to contract HIV. An even better way to protect oneself against HIV might be to practice safe sex than cutting your foreskin.

Myth 2: Foreskin does not have any significant function in our body but to provide away for gems causing UTI, HPV and HIV to easily invade our body thus circumcision serves as diseases prevention. It is minor surgery and not so painful.

Fact 2: The foreskin is a functional organ with a purpose, which is to protect the ####### from bacterial infection, to provide lubrication during intercourse, and to enhance the sexual experience of the man.

I dont think any adult has the right to cut off any part of a child.

There are millions of men and boys in the world who have never been circumcised and they do not have any ill effects. Some doctors tell horor stories about not having your sons done, claiming they will have lots of infections and could get cancer. There are also many doctor that say there is no risk to the male from not being circumcised and as long as they have good hygine there is no problems.

If there is a medical reason for it to be done, as in the foreskin is to tight and they cant pee then fair enough, but to have someone cut off the skin that protects the end of the ####### just because your culture says it should be done is not in the best interests of the child. They banned female circumcision so that people dont go cutting off the skin covering the colitiris, maybe we should do the same for boys.

but each to their own.

Back when I was in school, our Histology teacher showed us pictures comparing the epithelium with and without the protection of the prepucium (microscopic level). Without, it becomes rough and gets really deep crypts that favor bacteria growth.

It is much better to keep the prepucium and have good sanitary habits

Well the questions were asking about #1 about your son and #2 about your husband/boyfriend/fiance, so that would be referring to men. I know nothing about female circumcision, if that's what you are refering to when you say "women".

Call me inexperienced (in this area I would take it as a complement) but I have been with a total of 2 - one circumcised, one uncircumcised, and until it came up in conversation, I couldn't even see - or feel - a difference.

my SO is uncircumcised. i had no idea until it was mentioned in conversation and he said he's not. i felt like an idiot, but i really couldn't tell the difference...and i've seen it up close . i've been told that it's only apparent in a flacid state, which i haven't witnessed. but i'm totally going to make it a point to check out WHENEVER HE GETS HERE!

i think there was no cutting....because for russian orthodox, it's a jewish practice, which they're against.
