One of the best pizza's I've had was when I was in San Diego at a place called The Bronx Pizza. The guys makes NY style pizza that is to die for! I'm sure I would love NY pizza as well but I have yet to go there (even though I live right across the border from it)

What is New Haven pizza? And blech to pizza with tofu or alfalfa on it. That's just weird. The best pizza I've had in the US is from a place called Sbarro. I guess it's New York style.

Here is a link Krikit:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apizza

I can relate to the pronounciations of words and everything. This is the area I grew up in and am part Italian-American (and very close to that side of the family). I forget when I am in other places, to say mozzarella instead of mootz and pizza instead of apizza (abeetz). LOL :)

LoL, Sbarro is like the McDonalds of the Pizza World. I do like their pizza. I love the pizza places in Brooklyn.

Oh really? That's interesting. I found all the other pizzas I've had here are terrible. Maybe this is an upscale Sbarro?

I have this theory about Pizza, Mexican, and Sandwich restaurants. The asthetic beauty of the actual restaurant is inversely related to the quality of food you will get. Like for example..... the best mexican food places you'll find the u.s. (and by the whole u.s., I really mean Southern California) are the dive restaurants, or the taco trucks. The best pizza places I found in NYC were hole in the wall places.

I totally agree with you there.

Thanks for the link, Autumn!

That's true.

The place for absolutely AMAZING chinese food, we found in Calgary, was a little place in chinatown (go figure!) called happy valley!

When they shut it down for health violations for several weeks (they had to renovate) it did lose some of it's lustre.

I completely agree with this statement. They look so unclean but taste sooooooo good.

Hey, don't knock clam sauce until you try it .... it is YUMMY!!!!! But you can get a regular pizza with cheese and marinara too. I've lived away for a while that I forgot about the plain pizza meaning just sauce and parmesan cheese. If you want mozzarella cheese, you order cheese pizza :)

Ohhhh, I have several.

1) The Real Housewives of Orange County. I used to think this was all totally set up and fake. But then I moved to So Cal and realized it is probably pretty accurate. My husband pretends to hate it but watched three episodes with me last week back to back. Hmmm.

2) Froot Loops. Disgusting and so good. There is so little fruit in them they can't even spell fuit correctly.

3)When my husband is away, like right now, I occasionally spend all day in my pyjamas eating Froot Loops, watching the Real Housewives of Orange county and never brushing my teeth. And then I tell people that I went to the gym and then job-hunted all day. Just to clarify, this is only occasional behaviour!

I LOVE number 3!

Oh I finally tried poutine when I went to Canada last month! But it was at a movie theater. Is that OK?

Does anyone remember Labrynth, with David Bowie and the bouncing heads? That movie was so wierd.

I own it, and can recite most of it. I love Hoggle :D And David Bowie for that matter.

James and I watch Ghost Hunters all the time. Don't much care for the new one GHI though, don't like the team lead, nor half the team :P I saw Jason and Grant at Dragon Con, I was walking behind them. Didn't get to talk to them though, their handlers were surrounding them. We didn't get to see any of their panels though because the one that we *did* get in to, was cancelled. We guessed because Steve couldn't get on the plane with them :( He never did show up that weekend, one of the other guys came in his place.

We also have a bunch of ghost hunting equipment of our own, and we've been out once with a local (very disorganized) group.

I've lived in a haunted house before (actually two). It's very scary and no fun at all. I never want to experience it again. :crying:

OH, and I thought Smarties were an English product? I had them when I lived in England. Canada seems to have a lot of English products. Thank goodness. I was thrilled when I found Cadbury's chocolate buttons there! I LOVE those things and they are hard to find in the U.S.! This group sure does like food.

I enjoy McDonald's Bacon cheeseburgers, but now they took them off the dollar menu! Chocolate-covered pretzels. I absolutely love to watch Scare Tactics on the SciFi channel and sometimes Cheaters!

OMG, I would KILL to be able to do that! Except without the frootloops. :dead: Oh, and plus I wouldn't tell people that I went to the gym and then job hunted because they'd know I was lying.

Yes, Smarties are English. But you're right.... because of the huge British population and the ties to GB, you can pretty much get anything in Canada that you can get in Britain.

 That's OK, at least you tried it! It probably wasn't true, authentic poutine (was it cheese curds or just regular melted cheese on top?) real poutine comes with cheese curds.
