Hello!

Do you need to translate documents (for example joint bank account contract and a letter from landloard) into english for NVC? I read from somewhere that it is not necessary, but I'm really doubting this :huh:

Our timeline:

Married 2008-01-02 in Helsinki!

I-130 sent 2008-05-14

I-130 NOA1 2008-05-18

I-130 APPROVED 2009-02-04

I-129F sent 2008-05-27

I-129F NOA1 2008-06-03

I-129F APPROVED 2009-02-04

Interview on May 5th APPROVED

You have to translate everything into English for USCIS (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=translations), but you shouldn't have to send anything directly to NVC.

04.19.09 - POE Atlanta

AOS Process

06.09.09 - sent AOS,EAD,AP packet

06.17.09 - NOAs issued

06.24.09 - Biometrics done (3 weeks earlier than appt date)

07.03.09 - received RFE for I-693 (dated 6.29, responded 7.07)

07.23.09 - transferred to CSC (received letter 7.27)

07.29.09 - EAD Card Production Ordered & AP Approved

11.23.09 - AOS touched - card production ordered & welcome letter sent - 13 months exactly after initially applying for K-1!

12.03.09 - GC arrived in mail

Removal of Conditions Process

07.28.11 - received reminder letter from USCIS to remove conditions before 11.18.11

09.28.11 - mailed I-751 packet

10.03.11 - NOA

10.05.11 - check cashed

11.25.11 - Biometrics

07.24.12 - GC approved!

08.01.12 - GC arrived in mail

Citizenship Process

12.16.16 - sent N400 packet

12.23.16 - NOA issued

01.27.17 - Biometrics done

02.01.17 - put in line for interview

03.15.17 - scheduled for an interview on 04.21.17, had to write a letter asking for a reschedule because we will be out of the country

03.31.17 - scheduled for an interview again

05.09.17 - Interview!

if your k1 your just proving you meet at this point but as a rule everything has to be translate into english

Oh ok! Thanks. But my understanding is that you don't need to send any proofs of your relationship to USCIS with your I-130 and I-129F applications (I mean that is what we did) but after receiving NOA2 you start preparing your package for NVC, who will transfer the case to your embassy with all the attached doumentations of your on-going relationship, right? :hehe: Gosh, I've been reading so many topics relating these kind of things, but still it seems to be confusing to me :bonk:

sorry i read as K1 (need more coffee) other than that i always thought anything not in english had to be :thumbs: hopefully someone doing k3 will come along to explain procedures

for a K-3 nothing goes to NVC and for all visa types, all relationship evidence is handled by the consulate..

for an immigrant visa, application materials are submitted and the USC will provide financial information via affidavit of support to NVC

For a K3, you don't send any documents to NVC but for the Consulate any document besides communication examples would be wise to translate.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
