hello!

this question is directed to anyone who has experienced the same situation as i have. my problem is that i need to go home to my country, philippines, in order to attend the graduation of my daughter. i just got my green card today. i didn't file for application to travel together with my adjustment status papers since i read in the topics here that we can apply for it at a later date. my question now is if i apply for an application to travel, will i have to pay the fee? from what i understand in the instructions on the form, i don't have to pay it anymore. any valuable insights to my problem please? thanks so much in advance for your help.

Hi Ate!

If you have your green card already, you don't need the AP document to get back into the USA. All you need to return is your green card! You are already all set! No worry.....

You don't have to apply for AP since you have your GC already unless you will be gone for a year then you will need to apply for re-entry permit. I just came back from the Philippines and all I presented were my passport and GC. Bring a copy of your marriage certificate if your passport is still in your maiden name. Have a safe trip!!!

Hello, When is your Green card will expired? And How long you will be in the Philippines? Because, you know it depends how long you will be outside of USA. Try to read about "
FORM I-131" Ok. Good luck!

I went home last May- Sept 2008 and my green card will expire this Sept 2009. As long as u don't stay for more than a year there and your green card is not expired when you travel you will be fine.
