Mom just got Visa, now what's next.

Thanks for all your response guys, sorry it took me this long to reply just been very busy at work. Anyways yes I did apply for the Immigrant visa and yes it did take just a little over six months for it to get approved.

The I-130 was approved in about 3 months maybe even less than that. Then it was sent to NVC. I had my fee and the Affidafit of support all filed out and ready to be sent out the same day I got a letter requesting it and other documents. By then my Mom already had her DS whatever form police records birth certificate and other records all sent to me and I soon I was request to send those I had it in the mail through Express mail the same day.

I got the letter letter of invitation in the maile Dec 18 and her interview was on the 20th of January. I'm always one sept which makes things go a little faster.

Wow Good Job.. As your Mom will be arriving on an immigrant visa her Greencard will arrive in the mail within about 10 weeks. She will get a I-551 stamp in her passport at the POE and this acts as a temp Greencard until the plastic one arrives.

There is nothing else you need to file, she is done with USCIS until she needs to renew her Greencard (10 years time) or if she changes her address or if she wants to become a Citizen (5 years after entry)

It's sure is good to know I don't have to spend more money on this here process. Thanks for your help Kez/Jwolf and I hope the good lord guids you through all your indervours.
