i'm a noob in AOS section. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

i have successful k-1 experience.. yet AOS seems like a whole new process... a lot to learn.. T.T

plz help this poor soul.. ^^;

1)on the first line where it says, "i'm in the united states as a: visitor/student/pr/other:"

what is the right answer for this question? should i check 'other' then write 'k-1' next to it?

2)on the second line it asks for "A" number.. i don't think my wife is given "A" number yet..

should i just put N/A?

3)last question on the form.. "if not a permanent resident my stay expires on.."

can i just ignore it when filling out this form? we already got married and are in the process of filing AOS.

my wife isn't going anywhere without me.. ^^

If she's got her K1 visa, she's got an A #, as dilbull said, it'll be on the I-94 that was stapled into her passport.

don't skip any questions, that confuses USCIS. When I did an AR-11 I put "indefinite stay - adjusting from K3" in your wifes case, you'd put adjusting from K1 visa of course.

And don't forget that the USC also needs to do an address change form. Its I-865.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

btw... peter.. maybe you can help me with this one also..

you mentioned of i-865 in your post.. but what if i send in AOS petition after i move to a new address?

do i still have to do i-865 along with ar-11? cuz i did file i-134 in the past for k-1 process but i will not have filed i-864 by the time i move to a new address. so basically i would be filing AOS from a new address.

in that case, do i just do ar-11? or do i need to do i-865 as well..? i guess this gets kinda tricky...

any opinions?

also, some other vjers here posted that they contacted USCIS via phone as well as sending in their ar-11. do i need to call USCIS also?

you need the I865 as well, even tho you haven't done an I-864 yet, they count the I-134 as the same.
