I just got home from talking to one of my congressman's aids about the VSC and the lack of information they provide as well as the poor processing times. I also asked why VSC is moving so much slower than CSC and again he said that homeland security is not going to release this information. I brought up the the freedom of information act and he said even with that they just are not going to give us anymore information other then we are within our processing time. Also if we are within our processing times there is not much that our congressman can do but put in an inquiry.

So now I am very angry. I have come back with no answers and not even a hint of them getting any for me. If I am not mistaken they are a federally operated organization and that means that our taxes pay for this facility and the employees. Not to mention the application fees we have to pay for the K-1 petition.

Here's the deal the only way to change this is if we all write our senators and congressman about changing the legislation. If there is a lag in processing we have every right to know why under the freedom of information act. The problem is even if we push and write homeland security if they answer it could be a year or more before you get an answer. We need to write our congressman's and senators about making the immigration process more transparent. After all we are paying for it aren't we?

If the service center is within the prescribed timeline there isn't much anyone except Obama :P that can do anything about it. A year or so ago everyone was saying the same thing about California and four years ago everyone was saying the same thing about Texas and Vermont. It seems to go in cycles. I hope it is resolved soon

Yes I know that I am within the processing times. That is not what the post is about. I am posting to say that people should write their congressman and senator about the transparency of the process. If you call all they say is your petition is being process and is pending. Not why or where it is at in the process. They wont even answer why it is taking them so long to process them. We have a right to know why.

your reps can do inquiries on certain things, they cant CHANGE anything. I was at 6 months and told my rep she send a letter and mine was moved to calif, everything then went fine, got the interview and she sent letter again right before interview, everything fine again as he got visa. Sometimes if they know someone is watching them i do think they move a little better.
