You'll get your approval notice soon, just hang in there.Vermont was working very slow, but seems like that just got back working, I've been waiting for my approval for 5 months, we just got a notice from our lawyer saying that she got a mail with our approval notice, I was already trying to get in touch with senators and congressman, but thank GOD we got our approval today. All i know is that sometimes K3 visas takes longer to be approve then K1 visas, but i hope you'll hear something soon.Good Luck

K1 allows people to come over and get married, then they have a ton more paperwork afterwards! K3 is A LOT longer of a process because you're already married and now there's a lot of background stuff to be done. Hang in there, it took us a very, very long time to be approved too! But...we're finally there! If you're past the typical timelines, check in with your senator or congressman. Sometimes they can help!

Good luck :)

because the USCIS thinks people who havent made that "leap" yet should have presedence over couples who are already married and have made that life long commitment. heh heh

honestly, i have NEVER understood this logic. AND, to add insult to injury...k-1's can get an EAD stamp at the POE, & can renew their EAD online. They have it so much easier. silly us for wanting to be married first.

k-1's get married and then do AOS, just like we do..the only difference I see is the place of marriage and the wait for reunion.

I dont have ANY problems with our k-1 brothers and sisters going through the journey, but I dont get the logic at USCIS.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Helllllllooo, thats a 1 million dollar question, theres is no logic there why K1 approves faster than K3, It is a known fact that USCIS are for LOVERS only, they favor more for BF & GF than that of Legal Spouses.

Why Fiance V approve faster than Marriage V? its as simple, & A K3 is not effective because the waiting time for NOA2 is also the same with 1-130. Prepare yourself for a long journey. You are very lucky if u get approve 7 mos from filling. Its like winning the lotto jackpot. Our approval is close to 1 yr. But keep hoping, you will be approve in a few mos.

Its just always been that way since the K3 was invented. Before the K3 came along, it took even longer to get already married spouses processed.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

The work authorization stamp is now pretty much worthless. Besides, K3 can file for EAD before they adjust status, which is an advantage K1's don't have.

Anybody can renew an EAD online. But it's a dumb idea to do it because they won't process it until they have your photos, etc.

USCIS approve K1 faster but what happen sometime when partner don't marry the girl runaway & hiding, the implication is to go illegal. More often than not they dont return to their country. This add to the million illegal in the US.

On the other side, K1 approve faster because FIance V fee is higher than Marriage V, & if the couple dont marry in the US, the petitioner has the previlige to find another Gf & reapply, so thats another fee $455.

Humm its just business.

Who says couples who are not yet married have not made life long commitment or their relationship is somehow less valued than a couple that has signed a paper?

Maybe with K3 visas more paperwork and checks need to be completed because they are already married and they have to determine if the marriage is bonafide. It can be lot more complicated once the spouse enters the US and decides to run away or file for removal of conditions etc based on VAWA as opposed to a fiance(e) who enters and if does not get married has to simply leave the country or is an illegal (will not legally become a public charge)

Because only JFK issue it (not all the time though) and it's only valid for 90 days. Plus not many work places will hire you if they know your temp work permit will expire soon.

rebecca, I didnt talk about value. priority yes, value,no.

But, I will say that "piece of paper" makes it legal, it makes the spouse a member of the family. I also said that i have no problems with the k-1'ers personally..i have a problem that USCIS doesnt give family presendence over soon to be/intend to be family.
