Ours took 4 weeks to receive (from Orlando.) When I asked if we could have it the same day (or week) they said 'this court doesn't do it' but others 'might'. So! This might be standard but I am not sure how California does it. For us the 4 weeks was not too bad (we were still within the 90 days) and we filed the AOS well in time. And I have read here that a few weeks delay doesn't really matter too much for filing for AOS. Good luck

I recommend the same thing, if you're not happy about the timeline in your jurisdictioon, go to another jurisdiction that can do it faster.

I dont knwo if you're married already, but try going to a suburb that is not as busy? They might be able to get it to you faster...

When I got married, we got the marriage certificate on the SAME day.. maybe i was just lucky?

If you are not married yet, is it possible to have a civil wedding first and ask your county clerk's office for certified copies of the marriage certificate asap? And then perhaps hold a full-blown wedding celebration for all your guests with a symoblic ceremony at a later date?

A good friend of mine also came to the US on a K1 visa. She's also in LA. She and her husband chose the civil wedding route and got the certs the next day. Maybe a case of different counties.

My husband and I were very fortunate. The wife of our officiating Reverend worked a few floors above the county clerk's office. So the day after our wedding, she submitted our paperwork to the counter staff, and mailed the certified copies to us immediately. We received them 2 days later.

In Denver, CO they told me it would take 3 weeks to receive but after it was input into their system I could get certified copies right away, so I will be able to get them next week.

It took 1 month until we got our license and we got married on the 87th day after entering the country. Took 2.5 months after K-1 expired till they got our forms for various reasons and we had interview today and not a word was said about it. You dont need to have the forms sent in before the end of the 90 days

Craig and I were married in Omaha (Douglas County) Nebraska. We went to the courthouse and filled in a form, they printed our licence right then and there. We could have got married the same day if we wanted to. We didnt, we waited a few days.

When we did get married, again, they gave us the certified copies of our certificates complete with raised seals for $5 each right after the ceremony. Couldn't fault them. The ceremony was great too, much longer than I expected probably 20-25 minutes and the judge made us and our friends feel very welcome. Let us stay in the courtroom as long as we wanted afterwards etc.

I'd try another county or state if you want to be married really quickly. We're hoping to have a more formal ceremony or at least a church blessing in England with my family in the coming months.
