Hello everybody. I am not sure where to post my question so I am sorry if its in the wrong forum. I am still in process for K1 visa, haven't reseived my NOA2 yet and I am really worried about something. My sister just told me that she is getting married in September and I am not sure if I will get my advance parole by that time. I am hoping to be in US by June at latest and the stats here in VJ say that AP takes up to 2.5 months. We will be cutting pretty close on timing for buying plane tickets and so on. My question is what will happen if i leave the country while i don't have my AP yet. Is it possible to leave US,attend to my sister's wedding and wait in my home country untill my husband gets the AP so he can send it to me by mail . I know it's probably stupid to worry about something that far in the future but I have no intention of missing her wedding. Is there a way to expedite AP?

Thank you in advance for all the answers and GOOD LUCK TO ALL IN YOUR JOURNEY

K-1 VISA is only one way, the purpose is for you to enter, if you leave without AP, don't bother coming back because you will be refused at the POE, you need to have this before you leave the United States, you cannot get it once you leave and attempt to enter..

If you leave without AP - you will in all likelihood be denied entry to the US upon returning (that is what the AP is for).

Your idea of having husband send you AP documents in the mail is not a good idea at all.

You could (if you so desired) wait to enter the US until after your sister's wedding since you have 6 months to enter the US once your K1 Visa is issued (of course it all depends on when your K1 is issued).

Yes, there is something called "emergency" AP but it is at the discretion of the local office.... It is not granted to all who request.

YMMV

I would recommend NOT leaving the country without AP or the GC! You can always ask the embassy to delay issuing the visa until after the wedding.

It really sucks, but it looks like your going to have to make a choice. Wait to come to the states or miss the wedding. :(

It does really!!!! I am so frustrated and I really hope for a miracle. I can't believe those are the choises. I guess we'll see. Lets hope for the best. VSC are moving faster now so I am really hoping for an approval somewhere in Apr. A bit too optimistic I know but hey aren't we all hoping to see our sweethearts as soon as possible. Right now I am focusing on his vacation in BG for 2 weeks and I am so happy and impatient to see him. We are going to spend some time in Rome for Valentine's day and that will probably be the most amazing day ever :)

Thank you all for the replies
