Risk of leaving USA and coming back with the Advance Parole

Hello everyone,

Mi husband David and I (Laila) We have been coming here for help with all our K1 visa paperwork, and so, one more time we come here to ask about traveling outside the USA while I wait for my greencard interview.

I already received the notice that they got my adjustment of status packet, which included the 1-131 to get a travel permit (advance parole), and I am waiting for the travel permit to come to my mailbox. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away last week in Mexico, and I would like to travel there to be with my family, so I am trying to get the Advance Parole as soon as possible.

MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1. HOW BIG IS THE RISK OF TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE USA WITH AN ADVANCE PAROLE?

2. IS IT PROBABLE THAT THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER WILL SEND ME BACK TO MEXICO EVEN IF I HAVE AN ADVANCE PAROLE?

3. If I decided to go to Mexico, what would I need, in addition to the advance parole, to get back in?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Best,

Laila (and David) Crusoe

Timeline

1) Most people travel without incident

2) A previous visa overstay is one of the primary reasons for a re-entry refusal

3) Passport

YMMV

1) No risk this is what AP is needed for.

2) ???

3) Passport, AP doc, and perhaps a copy of marriage certificate.

MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1. HOW BIG IS THE RISK OF TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE USA WITH AN ADVANCE PAROLE? Not a big risk.

2. IS IT PROBABLE THAT THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER WILL SEND ME BACK TO MEXICO EVEN IF I HAVE AN ADVANCE PAROLE? Not really.

3. If I decided to go to Mexico, what would I need, in addition to the advance parole, to get back in? AP and Passport at least.
