Hi everyone i received an email from INS saying they sent me an RFE on my I130 1/24/09 Oh my GOD!! what could this be. Im so nervous i couldnt even finish my lunch. i was so excited to be TOUCHED on January 24, now this. how long is the normal turn around time once the correction is mailed. i pray its something simple. please pray for me. prayers to all of you as well.

relax, I'm sure you just forgot to sign something or forgot to send a copy of something. Just make sure u let us know when u find out so others can learn from it....good luck!

hi everyone i received my RFE in the mail today, they want me to RE-SUBMIT my passport photos. i wonder what happened to the first set i sent them. they only asked for me to resubmit, ummm?? this time they want my information written in PENCIL on the back of the photo. if im not mistaken the application said black ink. i hope next week they dont ask for my husband to resubmit his photos, i also wrote his information in Black ink on the back of his photo. this will delay us. i will retake the pictures today on my lunch break and express mail them off. keeping my fingers crossed for NO MORE RFE'S. thanks everyone.

Thats great! I mean not that u got an RFE, but that it was easily "fixable". I bet they r gonna be processing ur case soon too! Keep us informed! Good Luck!!!

Thanks so much you guys, you're right at least now i know someone has actually opened my pkg. im shaking in my boots however as i mentioned, i also wrote in black felt pen, on my husbands passport photo. I went all over town looking for a black FELT PEN. and besides the writing smears on the back of the photo.

i wonder are they working on my half of the packet first, thats why they wanted my photo retaken. if so, that means they will be requesting a new photo of my husband , once they start on his part of the application process. thats only my theory. i hope they overlook it. so for those of you just starting off. PLEASE WRITE YOUR INFORMATION IN PENCIL, on the back of those passport photos. good luck to everyone still waiting, and congratulation to recent approvals.

Yes, the original pictures probably were damaged by the pen. Be careful.

As you can see in my signature, I too received an RFE last week - and they also asked for a new set of passport photos of me, but it did not mention anywhere that I needed to write my name on the back at all, in pencil or pen... great - will I receive another RFE to sign it?

There is truly no rhyme or reason to this process.

i, too, received an rfe this week. still haven't gotten the hard copy...i do know that i wrote in pencil on the passport photos, so that's one down by the process of elimination. hopefully, we will all be processed soon and reunited with our loved ones!

Hi again, on my RFE is was very specific asked me to resubmit a 2x2 passport size photo(s) with my name and Alien# written on the back in PENCIL. instructions were to put the photos in a small envelope and attach it to the RFE document. I made of a copy of both pages for myself, & (sent them the 2 originals) one of the pages was blue , the other white, and to attach the small envelope to the white document. as a US citizen i dont have an alien #, so i wrote my receipt # and name on the back. im still confused on why they asked for my photos again, the application clearly states to use pencil or black felt pen. my name on the back of my original photo was NOT smeared it was clear and legible. i wish they would give an explanation on why exactly the RFE was issued. i hope all works out with you, good luck to everyone.

I think you can realistically expect an approval at the beginning of next week...

I just recevied my approval late Friday evening
