Good news in the old e-mail today!

Receipt Number: EAC0XXXXXXXX

Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On January 23, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

The funny thing is just this past Friday we had to drive two plus hours (each way) to Norfolk to get my wife's passport stamped.

I have noticed other people have made posts stating that the new GC is in production. I haven't seen anything about that as of yet. Does that come after an interview or more biometrics (which we did when application was submitted)? Later on in the process? If I've gotta drive back to Norfolk, it won't be a good day. Thanks!

Currently working on getting together our timeline loaded with pitfalls galore! She's here though, and that's most important!

Good things happen to people and they still find a way to complain about small stuff. Congrats anyway!

We submitted the I-751 January 16, 2008. Had the biometrics on February 20 (I think). Received the NOA and GC extension letter the following month. After that didn't hear anything until just before the new year, and that was an RFE (which requested everything we had already sent). Sent all that info off again December 30, 2008. Wife's GC extension expired January 8, so we went to Norfolk, VA office via Infopass Friday, 23 January and got a passport stamp extending her another year. This morning received a case status update, which was quoted in my original post.

Not to get into a lot of detail, but because of the way USCIS has handled this case so far, my wife was out of work and couldn't drive (with a toddler at home) for the better part of a month because her GC expired.

Is it good that my wife's application was approved? Absolutely. Do I feel as though we have a right to complain about "small stuff" like loss of income and mobility because USCIS waited until the last possible moment to send me an RFE requesting the same documents I had originally sent them one year prior? Darn right.
