People,

Two questions:

1) I´ve heard that when submitting the forms (I-130, 485, etc) that they should be submitted in 3 copies, being the original one in a white paper, and 2 other copies, in blue and yellow paper, anyone know anything about it??

2) Also, I´ve heard that doing all the paperwork without a lawyer can be pretty hardcore and that there are a lot of details that are missed? What´s your experience with it? I think most people here did it without lawyers right? Some assurance will be welcome!

You are right, I think most people here did it without lawyers, we didn't use any....the process is pretty straightforward, but not that hardcore, it's just a matter of waiting that's all, unless you think your case is complicated, then you should consider a lawyer.

Day 144 - Mar. 17 '12: Received fingerprinting letter

Day 147 - Mar. 20 '12: Biometrics completed

Day 156 - Mar. 29 '12: Email: Interview scheduled, letter in mail

Day 190 - May. 02 '12: Interview Completed, Passed, Oath same day

Where did you hear that? There's nothing about that in any official nor unofficial instructions.

03/01/2007 - POE - JFK (L-1 Visa)

01/15/2008 - Proposed

03/15/2008 - Married

09/02/2008 - Sent AOS Package (I-130, I-485, I-693)

09/03/2008 - Received - Signed by SMITH

09/04/2008 - Checks deposited

09/10/2008 - Checks cleared ($1010 + $355)

09/12/2008 - 2 NOA's received (I-130, I-485) - Dated 09/08/08

09/16/2008 - Received notice for biometrics appointment on 09/30/2008

09/20/2008 - Biometrics done - Walk in (Orlando) Took 10 minutes

09/22/2008 - I-485 viewable online (pending, of course)

09/30/2008 - Biometrics Appointment (2pm)

12/30/2008 - Received Interview Letter

02/25/2008 - Interview

03/06/2008 - Welcome Letter received (the website will clearly never send me updates!)
