Hi everybody! I know that what i will ask have been asked and answered over and over again..but I hope that someone can help me out here...Ok here it goes...

1. Regarding the appointment letter from the USE Manila..how am I going to get a hard copy of that? Will I get it after I call the embassy or will they send it to me immediately after they have logged in our case to their data base? I know that the email copy will be admissible when it comes to SLMEC but I wonder if I could also use the e-mail of the appointment letter for the Interview? Do they allow that? Or does it need to be the original appointment letter?

2. Ok I need to have 2 sets of DS 156...but does each copy need to have the same bar code in it or 2 different barcodes will be fine?

3. Lastly, my fiance doesnt have a W2 for 2007 because he lost it..he only have his 2007 ITR but he will be filing for 2008 ITR this January so I would get the latest one and have his 2008 W2..would this be enough? We dont have bank statements or anything like that just paystubs for 3 months and employment letter. Although his income is way above the poverty line, will they still look for anything else or that would be sufficient?

I hope anyone can answer my queries and help me with this..Any insights would be greatly appreciated..Thanks in advance! :)

When you set youre appointment, you should get the letter within a week or so, so by the time you go to your interview, you should have the hard copy as well as the email they sent to you.

2. Ok I need to have 2 sets of DS 156...but does each copy need to have the same bar code in it or 2 different barcodes will be fine? It shouldn't matter, my fiance printed 2 of them and she never mentioned it to me or had problems @ the Embassy, she passed

Depending on when the interview is, he can actually order his 2007 tax transcript from the IRS and that will not need to have the W2 with it as it's and official from from the IRS, but if he has his 2008 ITR and W2, that should be fine as well and I would probably go with that  . I didn't include any bank statements or other docs(Just my 2007 ITR, 2006/7 W2, Employment letter, and 2/months worth of paystubs), as long as you're above the 125% poverty line, you will be ok.

I hope anyone can answer my queries and help me with this..Any insights would be greatly appreciated..Thanks in advance! :)

  • 3 weeks later...

The most recent (2008) itr should be ok. If he can get a copy of 2007 that is good too but dont stress about it. The last 3 paystubs should be ok, I think I inlcuded six or seven paystubs. Does he have w2's from 2007 and 2008? I included those also, but again, not totally required. I would try to include some copies of bank statements also. You dont have to have a lot of $$ in them, if your fiance has direct deposit it is another proof of income. THe co embassy Manila was concerned about the itrs and my salary even though it was well above the poverty line. Good luck! Always keep in mind it is better to have too much info than not enough.
