Hello Everyone,

We are filing for our Conditions Lifting in April and we live in NYC. The documentation we are submitting is of our joint checking, filed joint taxes, travel itineraries, letters/cards with envelopes (with date highlighted) we've received at our home. Does this sound like enough or could we still get a RFE. We were not thinking of having friends or family write letters, has anyone submitted just this documentation, but received a RFE requesting letters from family or friends testifying a relationship/marriage . Any thoughts?

Also, about how long after you file does the NOA1 come that permits travel outside of the US?

Many thanks for your help, insights, and wisdom.

April

Also submit the lease rental agreement or mortage, preferebly under both names, this is very important to them. And utility statements. Ids from both of you so they can see you live at the same address, health and/or insurance if under the same policy. Even after sending these you might still get a RFE. Others have sent absolutly everything imaginable, even child's birth certificate and they get RFE. Anyway, try to send as much as possible. Remember that they want to see that you guys are financially tied. The affidavits from friends and family are just another evidence, not necesary, but people send it when you don't have enough evidence.

Also the NOA1 comes like after two weeks or less after you file.

Good luck

file anything that supports your case... anything at all, i agree that a rental or mortagage agreement is ideal.

also, the NOA1 can come at anytime, mine took 2 months, some people get it after a couple weeks, so if you need to travel before you get it, try to get an infopass appointment and get a stamp in your passport. however, sometimes they won't give it to you too early

Yes, I would say joint mortgage or lease is vital. I never submitted affidavits or photos. One joint bank statement from every 6 months a utility bill in joint name every 6 months. 2 years joint tax returns and a couple of emails showing we had airline tickets to the same place. 39 pages in all and 62 days from start to finish.

Travel. I travel every week and I am sure they know on their computer screens at immigration that you have applied. I travelled last week to Canada with 2 weeks left on my conditional green card and no-one questioned me (I did have the letter in my pocket, just in case :))
