Here I am again, I wish to know if some of the income by a sponsor is via Social Security, then will that matter or not?

I agree with rch in principle.

But I do wonder if it might make a subtle difference in a case officer's subconcious if the SS recipient is over, say, 100 years old?

Generally people don't receive very much in SS (I heard max was like $1500 a month - I could be wrong.) So, it depends on the total income (as shown on his/her tax return.) The age shouldn't be an issue (I think they are not allowed to descriminate based on sex, age, religion and NFL team affiliations.) Good Luck
