I never thought I would be happy to say this... With MLK behind us we have no more holidays till Memorial day. You know what that means? Five full days of processing by the service centers! The only slowdown we might have is in March where moms / dads might take off for spring break. Hey given the economic situation I'll bet lots of the spring break vacations will be put on hold this year.

So there we have it. Two silver linings and its just Sunday!

Consulate here won´t work tomorrow because here it is Independence Day-Feb 27- so they off because it is a local holiday.

February (Washington's B-Day & Lincolns Birthday) are now observed on one day in February and called Presidents day. This happened when they adopted MLK day.

Do the consulates in other countries take American holidays, the holidays of the country they are in, or both?

For example, will the US consulate in Brazil be off for President's day and Carnaval, or just one or the other?

Thanks!

Speedy processing to all!!!
