Foreign Birth Certificate or Naturalization Cert

Hi All,

I'm a US Citizen, filing AOS for my wife. My wife was born in Rhodesia which is now Zimbabwe, but when she was about 2 years old, they moved down to South Africa and she was subsequently naturalized as a South African Citizen.

So what I'm needing to know, is do we need to go through the effort of getting a copy of her Birth Cert. from Zimbabwe, or would a copy of her South African naturalization certificate be sufficient? For either of them, do they need any notarization or apostille?

Submit a copy of your foreign birth certificate or other record of your birth that meets the provisions of secondary evidence found in Title 8, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), 103.2(B )(2).

What did you provide to the consulate when getting a K-Visa? K-Visas require birth cert.
