Hi everyone!

So I happily came home today from a cheerleading competition with my daughter after my mom, who was taking the dog out for us as we were away all day, tells me on the phone "Oh honey your mail came and theres something here from Homeland Security." I say, " Are you sure its Homeland Security & not Immigratioin with a Vermont address?" "No, its definitely Homeland Security." Me - "Oh, that cant be good" & of course its not.

Cant believe I didn't put a damn copy of the Arabic marriage certificate in the I130 & I129F. Its been 7 1/2 months - I dont even remember reading where I had to submit a copy of that one just the English translations. Was soooo looking forward to a January approval, start the new year off on a good note but NO - now I guess thats an RFE and will require additional wait time for the NOA2 right?

I'm so angry & so damn tired of waiting - I could really cry right now. This is such a joke. After all this time & only 1 damn touch - NOW they ask for this. There timing is perfect of course - I was just there in Tunisia with my husband a week ago & could have mailed it from there had this information come a week earlier.

Oh Oh & as far as updates go - checked the website at USCIS - no change in status indicated on our petitions - still says " case received and pending," no action of any kind noted ... nothing other than this blue form in the mail today.

Sorry all just really fed up and sick of always being on the verge of tears over this damn process, it really has a way of sucking all the hope out of you.

Glad to see others have had better news than we did this week. (F)

Come join the party. I am fed up and irritated too. I'm starting to think they lost my petition and that my pending status will remain the same forever! Not like they would ever know if it was lost anyway. At least you know there is life with your application. Hopefully you can get them what they need, really fast. Does it take really long to get the marriage certificate? Inshallah it will be very soon.

Without a copy of the official Urdu marriage certificate there's no way USCIS knows an actual marriage certificate with a seal and signature exists. The translation is just a piece of paper signed by a translator.

From the I-130 instructions regarding translations....

Translations. Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English.

Note "accompanied by" does not mean "replaced with". Always read carefully, interpret literally and do as instructed or you'll make other critical mistakes later.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
