I received our NOA1 in the mail. When I checked my online banking my teenage son had used my atm card and withdrawn cash without asking. This caused my check for $455.00 to be returned unpaid by my bank. WHAT HAPPENS NOW? and will this DESTROY my case? will it prolong it for months? I'm sure I'll get a letter from USCIS but when? It's already been 10 days. This MUST have happened to others at some point. Please someone tell me what to expect.

well it's been two weeks now. I 've attempted to call the USCIS and all they tell me is my case is fine and pending. I know this isn't true because my bank says they returned my check unpaid. I don't know who to contact or where to write to. I want to resolve this matter immediately so that I won't have to refile. I don't know what to do I'm sick with worry.

If that's the case then why haven't they? I've already received my NOA1. I don't understand what's going on. I've been told many different things. I had someone else off here tell me that they would send me a letter and I would have 10-14 days to resolve this matter or else I would have to refile. I understand they return to the packet BEFORE you get the NOA1 but what about AFTER?

I was hoping to hear from someone who has already been through this. Someone that already got their NOA1 and THEN had their bank return it unpaid

Thank you very much! But my main concern is that it's been two weeks and I've not received a letter from USCIS financial department........ I realize I only have a certain amount of time. All I can do is wait to receive the letter and hope that the time I have to clear up the matter doesn't begin UNTIL I receive the letter.

COME ON! ANYONE?

I copied this from the I-129f instructions, there may be achance you will be ok

You will not receive your original check back. We will destroy your original check, but we will keep a copy of it. If the EFT cannot be processed for technical reasons, you authorize us to process the copy in place of your original check. If the EFT cannot be completed because of insufficient funds, we may try to make the transfer up to two times.
