I think we know they are different and that duvets and duvet covers are not the same size in America and the UK. However if you buy them both from one country (which I am doing) then you are fine. And we already established you can buy them (duvets and duvet covers) in the US.

:help: :help: :help:

which part of you can't buy them in the US do you not understand

Sorry to be blunt

And whatever you do BRING YOUR DUVET WITH YOU!!!!!!!!

Yeah, what is with this "comforter" sh!t! I know they have some retarded words for stuff, but that's right up there with the most ghey.

I'm taking a king size duvet and duvet cover with me. I know american sizes will be different but everytime I need a new cover I'll just order one online. Tom had a comforter and it was a ####### to wash, due to the UK sized washing machines. I ended up washing it in the bath.

If your going to be anywhere near an Ikea store they have the same range of duvets as here:)

Charley fell in love with mine when he was visiting and has had one ever since.

I been in the US over three years and have looked everywhere for Duvets online and instore and they don't sell them in the US. Don't confuse US style Comforters for European style duvets they are nowhere near the same. If you make the mistake of not bringing one trust me you will regret it and end up doing as i did, getting them shipped in from the UK. Once again Ikea or anyone else in the US do not sell them so don't be fooled. One way to tell if it is a european style Duvet is to look for the tog rating if it doesn't have one then it is not the same.

The Ikea at Red Rock and at Dallas do sell them along with a full range of duvet covers. When we bought them last year they had just introduced the range and only had the man-made fibre ones available, but were expecting the feather range to come at a later date, as I'm allergic to feathers I've never checked back to see if they have them. I was however able to buy exactly the same duvet there as I have here in England even down to the same product name. Having slept under a duvet for the last 30 odd years here in England I think I can recognise one.

Well I will put Ikea Dallas on the top of my list when I get to Dallas, so funny never been to Ikea here but the other half could do with some new furniture, need a sofa and not a futon in the living room ha ha

We bought a fantastic goosedown duvet here in the good ol' USA. My Brit husband remarks just about daily how much he loves it. The duvet cover was purchased here also. I can't say both are *exactly* like a UK duvet and duvet cover, but I can tell you I like them better than some I've encountered in the UK.

Oh, I see. You're probably getting confused by the use of the word "comforter".

Duvets

Ikea UK website duvet page

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categori.../bedroom/10685/

Ikea US webiste comforter page

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categori.../bedroom/10685/

they are calling them comforters to appeal to the US market but they are duvets! The sizes differ from the UK ones, but that because bed sizes differ otherwise they are the same product - I am not stating this just based on what I have seen on the website but because I helped Charley buy his and have slept under it! If they don't fall into your classification of a duvet then it differs radically from mine.
