Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum..but anyway I have a couple questions I'd like to get some insight to. I am a Permanent Resident here in Canada and I am going to apply for a US visitors visa soon. My question is what type of application forms do I need? I know I have to fill out one online..is there a time period that I have to fill it out before I attend the interview?

And for anyone who has gone through the process before..what kind of questions did they ask you at the interview?..also what kind of documents do I need?

Thanks for any help guys..I appreciate it.

hi Dave, try this site www.nvars.com..you will fill some kind of online form for your personal access later on to book you interview. I don't think they entertain calls for appoinment reservation, you have to do it online. But there is a trick, sometimes when you check the schedule,it says there is no available spot, the trick is,you have to check it as much as you can everyday because some people cancel and the embassy will make that spot available for anybody who wants to get it,but as i say you have to keep an eye on it.

since you're a PR..I dont think you would have problems getting one..all they want to know is if you have strong ties to Canada and a proofs that you will come back here..I even know some people with only work permits and they got a 10 year visitor's visa to U. S.

I forgot to tell you..I was denied a visitor's visa because I put in the form i filled up that I was going to visit my fiance in the U.S. and after that a friend told me that I shouldn't have mentioned that he was my fiance..she told me that i should've mentioned that he was only my boyfriend..because that 's what she did and she got a 10 year visitor's visa..

or may be if you have enough proofs of strong ties to Canada they wouldn't mind you visiting your fiance in the U.S.

yeah i dont think it should be a problem to get it...did you also give them a bank statement?

no, I did not...it was a mistake..because i thought i wouldn't have a problem getting one because i know few people who got a visitor's visa without any problems and they're just here on a work permit, so bring as much as you can to prove you're still coming back here..may be even a letter from your boss stating that you have a job here or something like that..good luck
